Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Giroud and Xhaka rested for Hull. Makes sense.

Absolute bullshït move by Wenger starting Ospina. He done the exact same last year and cost us top spot in the group. Idiotic.

    ...What?!

We are stocked in midfield, yet manage to use the same two players, both who had a huge injury, within 4 days.
We bought a striker for depth, our first striker is back, and we're blooding Iwobi, a nervous Ox on the other wing, and a guy whos not a stiker up front.
We are facing a team with ridiculous attacking force, and playing our second keeper.

I mean its not a terrible team by any stretch just...what?

    Wtf is Wenger on?

    Is he trolling the fans?

    No Lucas or Giroud?

    No Xhaka?

    He is off his rocker.

Are Iwobi and Oxlade purposely on the wrong wings?

    Baffling starting XI.

I imagine they'll probably alternate between each wing. That'd make too much sense though.

Are Iwobi and Oxlade purposely on the wrong wings?

    It's all about the confusion.

The Ox got a decent goal from the left against Liverpool.

Hard to believe this performance from the Ox was nearly 3 years ago - https://vimeo.com/149549948

If we could get him playing consistently like he did in this match it would be great. He's gone backwards since then though. Hopefully Wenger's trust in him allows him to flourish otherwise I can see him being sold come the end of the season. There's a great player in there, just his confidence seems to be on the floor.

And we all thought Xhaka, Giroud etc were being rested last Saturday for tonight's match.
Is Wenger in control of his faculties anymore?

Didn't turn my volume off before watching that. Rookie mistake.

    WTF???

What was Ospina at? Where were our CBs?

Right what was that 42 seconds they scored

Was about to post that I was looking forward to seeing Mustafi finally. Ah well.

Also Sanchez up front doesn't work, get ready for a long game.

    In what way?

  • Registered Users Posts: 822 ✭✭✭Pudders

2nd nailed on and then we get knocked out.

    Hardly a surprise.

Absolutely headless out there. Can someone pass a ball please?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭JustTheOne

    Ridiculous.

Could understand if it's February and some players are tired but it's September.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,693 ✭✭✭emmetlego

This is putrid so far. Like as if Wenger knows we can't win here anyway, so why try? Baffling

Wenger should have been making changes as soon as we went behind.
He has no tactical nous at all.

As soon a I saw the starting XI i gave up on the entire CL campaign... that team is basically telling PSG we wont be challenging to top the group and will instead play for 2nd and go out in the next round if we do manage to blag our way into the last 16...

Had it with Wenger now. We're stuck in a time warp.

    Not sure if you're serious....

Absolutely clueless in the final third and we have been for quiet some time. We've two strikers at the club and Wenger won't start either of them.

You know it's going to be a good game when Caz misplaces 2 passes in the space of a minute.

Just the pressure PSG are putting us under. Cazorla fouled twice within a minute too. Game would be ideal for Xhaka. Can't understand Coquelins inclusion. Yellow carded there now.

Did he do something to annoy wenger?

Ospina is being booed Everytime he gets the ball. Is it the away fans booing him?

    Of course i am.
We have no out ball with Sanchez up front.
Giroud needed to come on and Xhaka replacing Coq.

The first pass he was under no pressure. That's the reason we have Cazorla, to control the ball under pressure and distribute.

As poor as Sanchez is on the wing, he's poison upfront. We're actually hitting high balls up between him and Thiago Silva. Ridiculous.

Sorry, no manager in their right mind is going to use 2 of their 3 subs a minute into a match because they concede a goal.

He'll wait until we're 2 or 3 down then :pac:
    That'll work.

Iwobi is playing very well. Baffled as to why Xhaka is benched and why Lucas or Giroud didn't start ahead of Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Your plan will probably fall apart if we concede again, or suffer any injuries. :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,693 ✭✭✭emmetlego

As bad as our defending has been at times, our midfield has been offering them very little protection. The ball just keeps coming back at us., this is a dual problem. The ball by our midfield has been less than poor, and our man up top, just doesn't work in that position. Team selection is really biting us in the ass!

Oh, and remember the clamber here to buy Cavani? He's not great at all tonight, just missed an open goal. But we are giving him oceans of room.

So we let things continue as usual then :pac:
Isn't there some saying about doing the same thing all the time and expecting different results?

As a striker, Sanogo > Sanchez.

Cavan should have a hat trick already. We're being torn apart.
