Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Referees aren't always wholly consistent tbf

You're actually talking through your hoop.

It's not about natural position it's about intent.

How could Kos even know that ball was gonna hit his arm?

Still don't see anything wrong with it.
Ox's shot was heading for the top of the net anyway.

Ooh i dunno tbh. I think it was heading for the top of row zz to be honest.

He was, Ox def connected with the ball

100% didn't after watching all the replays. I still would have given free out for the handball

Either way we were very lucky for the goal to stand

When it was headed across wasnt Kos ahead of Ox?

Natural position helps determine intent as per FA rule book.

I would be livid if it was the other end tbf

Sick of us getting screwed over.

If I was a Burnley fan I'd be sick - big teams get the decisions etc

But I'm an Arsenal fan so 👍👍👍

They were onside from the near post header and after that Ox didn't touch it so no offside.

Would have given handball though, no way that was going into the net off Kos's boot.

So, five league wins on the bounce, only two points off the top.

    Gotta be happy with that.

The most important thing is that the Arsenal thread have managed to find a way to argue with one another.

    All I say is yahoooooooooooooooo!!

    Up yours Burnley!

Bet Mourinho is sickened too. They produced their performance of the season, loads of chances and couldn't manage three points.

We scored the worst goal ever. I think it was actually going out before it hit Kos.

Since the PSG drawn game, we have won the five games in all competitions by a combined score of 14-1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,676 ✭✭✭✭Ol' Donie

We've played 10 games this season, conceding 8 goals.

Half of those were to Liverpool on day one.

With the greatest of respect as a "neutral" yiddo.

Ox didn't get a touch on the corner, koschenly just got to the ball first and his shot was going wide before it hit his arm. .

Laurent said to sky sports he didn't think the ball hit his arm, so I guess he has to cover his ass being a Frenchman...lol

I play myself and if the ball went in off my hand i would be in no doubt about it..

I think the signing of Mustafi is enormous. It's early days, but those two together feel way, way more secure than anything we've had in years.

I only saw it on a stream and it looked as if Ox got a foot to it before it hit Kos.
I will look at it again tomorrow as i'm watching the golf now.

Arsenal deserved to win because they scored more goals than the opposition. Goal deserved to stand because the ref decided it was a goal. Any other argument is pointless. Especially when it is being made by some people on here who would gladly have an argument with a chair. It's hard to believe that some people on here still fall for lazarus' crap after all this time.

Good for Burnly to lose. They did not play football and just sat back all game. screw them and there negetive football. Next time play football and you may get a result

I'll give the PL refs their credit, the vast majority of them build great rapport with the players and show common sense. Your David Ellery's though or European refs would be flashing the card in this instance. Swings and roundabouts with refs in terms of a strict or lenient approach

    They played to their strengths.

If they went toe to toe against Arsenal "playing football" it would be a cricket score in our favour.

I found it frustrating how they played - but completely understandable why they set up for it.

Instead of complaining about negative tactics, I think we should take a look at some of our finishing the last 2 games.

Again, I'm not a fan of how they played, but you gotta do what you gotta do with the talent at your disposal..

    It's simple maths.
    Bellerin is Spanish.
    Guardiola is Spanish.
    Bellerin is in contract negotiations.
1+1=increased wage demands from Bellerin agent.

He deserves a good wage. Take no chances!

Just bang an £70m fee on him, if they don't pay he stays simples, can't see him wanting to leave myself

Last gasp but they all count. It seems Ox never actually touched the ball! Again league goal and assists in brackets, totals on the right!

    Goals
    Sanchez (4) 5
    Walcott (3) 5
    Cazorla (2) 2
    Ozil (2) 2
    Koscielny (2) 2
    Xhaka (1) 2
    Oxlade Chamberlain (1) 2
    Perez (0) 2
    Chambers (1) 1

    Assists
    Sanchez (2) 4
    Iwobi (3) 3
    Cazorla (2) 2
    Walcott (2) 2
    Elneny (1) 1
    Perez (0) 1
    Akpom (0) 1
    Oxlade Chamberlain (0) 1
    Bellerin (1) 1

And some people say Sanchez isn't our best player.
    Top of both piles :)

He signed a new deal last year, and as flush as City are there are still limits to what they'll spend.

Transfermarkt reckon his last extension was in 2013 but that takes him up until '18/'19. I've yet to see Arsenal play hardball and actually get crazy money for any player though. Just hoping they give him more money the keep him happy

This popped up on my twitter feed earlier from the Arsenal account, what a gifted player Rosicky was, such a shame that he was injured so often

Yep, that title challange in 2008 was built on the midfield of Hleb, Fabregas, Flamini & Rosicky. His injury in January that year was as big a part of not quite making top spot as Van Persie or Eduardo's injury if not bigger.

Was like having an extra Cesc on the field.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,042 ✭✭✭✭L'prof

You reckon they have his contract date right or is he tied down for longer? I'd still be surprised to see them play hardball and ask for crazy money if he wanted to leave
