Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ozil isn't happy with a goal unless he's bounced it off the ground first.

I thought the same as well, but in fairness, he did pick out a good pass to Perez.

We can always go back over whether Xhaka's red card was deserved or not?

We could still whinge about the defence.
A poor team like Ludo were given 3 great chances to score in the first half by sloppy defending. We need to tighten up.

Cazorla and Coq do a magnificent job together, Cazorla controls the tempo of the game and Coq breaks up opposition attacks so well. In my opinion Kante's performances last season for Leicester was a huge reason they won the league and Coq is doing a similar job this season. Walcott and Sanchez may be getting the plaudits for knocking in the goals but Coq is the most important player on the team right now. Elneny and Xhaka have a fight on their hands to try and force themselves into this team because right now Coq is undroppable.

Always good to do this after we score a good few :D Ozil scored 3 but he also got his first assist of the season also tonight! This team seems to loads of goals in them with two big goal scorers in Ramsey and Giroud to come back too  League goal and assists in brackets, totals on the right!

    Goals
    Walcott (5) 8
    Sanchez (4) 6
    Ozil (3) 6
    Oxlade Chamberlain (1) 3
    Cazorla (2) 2
    Koscielny (2) 2
    Xhaka (1) 2
    Perez (0) 2
    Chambers (1) 1

    Assists
    Sanchez (3) 5
    Iwobi (3) 3
    Cazorla (2) 3
    Perez (0) 3
    Walcott (2) 2
    Oxlade Chamberlain (0) 2
    Elneny (1) 1
    Akpom (0) 1
    Bellerin (1) 1
    Ozil (0) 1

Still not sold on Mustafi at all, our defence overall is still shakey. A good keeper saves 2-4 of the goals we scored tonight .

    Onwards.

DAT touch from Ozil for his first goal.

    Unnnggh.

I was happy with them in most games so far with the exception of tonight in the first half and one other game which i can't think of now. It's not just them. You need the full-backs to be on song and in tune with them too. We gave a poor team 3 great chances to score tonight. A better team would have punished us.

    PSG away tayto

Tonight was his first start in a month lets not get carried away.

Aye there's still a bit of communication to be worked out there but the opposition were quick on the break and we played a very high line against them, I wonder if Mert had been playing would he have been outpaced?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,828 ✭✭✭gosplan

I have no problem conceding a few chances to that team. Mistakes need to be cut out but the high line plus being in second gear is very good for our players.

Was watching spurs last night getting through a rediculous amount of work closing Bayer down and chasing everything. I get that it was a big game in the context of their group but all I was thinking was that they won't be able to keep this up for a season, just like last year. They couldn't keep it up for the whole game in the end.

You can't just go at every game hammer and tongs trying to dominate every aspect and win every ball. It's unprofessional really.

Get through the group stages with minimum of fuss.

I think Xhaka is currently behind Coquelin in securing that central midfield berth. The sending off only reinforces that.

A lot of it is people afraid to praises Walcott & Co. because it'll be more than likely to thrown back in their faces at a later stage.

Can't argue with 7 wins on the bounce. Could and probably should be 11 in a row by the time we host Spurs.

This is said after every game, what do people expect like? You can only say so much. It's way easier to give out and then people argue and it makes for 20 pages of mostly bollox. We're all just patiently awaiting the next game :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,042 ✭✭✭✭L'prof

So with November being our least favourite footballing month, do we think this year will be any different? Last year they managed 1 win and 2 draws from 5, which is an average of 1 point per game

    399632.jpg

Can this be improved upon this season or are the fixtures much tougher?
