Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Perfect for these games. Not on the bench is he?

    no, may feature against Reading

  • Registered Users Posts: 957 ✭✭✭MonsterCookie

not great depth on the bench today

would like to see Perez given the nod now but who to take off? Walcott's confidence might suffer...

I'd keep things as they are for at least 20 minutes or so.

    Need a bit of pace.

    Perez please.

    Perez and Ox coming on

Gets no cover from who plays on the left, regardless of who plays there

So that should have been a red according to this mysterious new rule?

I agree with that. Iwobi has left him in a lot of 2 on 1's all season but even in 1 vs 1 situations, he has been well below par.

Elneny - Coquelin midfield must be the worst midifeld pairing we have

This place is going to descend into war in 10 minutes...

    Brace yourselves

I wouldn't say that. Will you be disappointed if it doesn't?

    I'd prefer it didn't.

His passing/crossing in this game has been atrocious.

Koscielny literally saved us a point with that tackle. Amazing

Giroud's return date has been pushed out more than once. He was meant to be back on the 18th now it's the 25th.

Very poor stuff. Sanchez up top, no creativity in the midfield, just hoofing it forward.

We need to be winning games like this to be title contenders.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

We're usually very good against promoted teams too, makes this even worse. Boro had more chances to score than us too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 957 ✭✭✭MonsterCookie

tbf Boro were the typical well organised, park the bus, try to hit us on the break opposition. Yes we struggled to break them down but we have lost several games like that in the past. Frustrating but not a disaster.

Can't be world beaters every week. The important thing is now to put it behind us and move on. The plan B (Giroud) from the bench wasn't available which was the real killer, and it was probably the game we needed it the most. 75% possession but less shots on target says it all. We just didn't click in the final third. One point gained when you consider the chances Middlesboro had.

    COYG!!

Brutal performance and if we are being honest we probably could have been beaten but for Cech. Valdes only had one real save to make and the rest was catching practice. We weren't good enough today against a poor side, who only kept one clean sheet this season.

We have had quite a few 0-0s at home the last couple of seasons though against average sides, which is a bit worrying.

Roll on next week against Sunderland.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,828 ✭✭✭gosplan

Yeah. Missed Caz, Giroud or even Xhaka today.

    Still, solid defence.

    Point will have to do.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭JustTheOne

There will be loads of results like this all season with every team.

    Were top of the league.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,521 ✭✭✭✭mansize

Need Giroud for these types of games.

    Can't win them all.

    Top of the league

    Was gonna say just this.

Pain in the hoop, but they defended extremely well and in numbers. Just didn't have that little bit of magic today. Shame, but it happens.

But we should have enough quality to win most games playing average.

need to thank Cech and Kos that we didn't lose it. Who knows could be a point gained come the end of the season. Very disappointing to watch that though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,216 ✭✭✭Looper007

Woeful performance and lucky to even get a draw as Boro had the better chances. We need to win games like this at home simple as. Cech was excellent. That's all the positive I can take from the game. Wished we at least made their keeper work more. Without Carzola in the midfield we lack that extra oomph. Thought Bellerin and Monreal had a stinker. Alexis Walcott and Ozil were off the boil.

Disappointed with that result. Still don't see us winning the title, hope I'm wrong. But I see more of these results happening in the future. At least most of these lads will get a rest midweek in time for the Sunderland game next Saturday.

They were 5 points up on corresponding fixtures last season but that draw today pushes that back to 3 points

So if we keep gaining 3 points every 9 games we'll finish on 84 or so.

    Good enough for me!!

Handy that our Jose hoodoo and our Utd hoodoo are now combined into just 2 games!!!
