I don't think the 0.3m/0.4m savings for De Roon or Fletcher is worth selling the highest points scorer in the game. Unless he totally flops the next few matches, he'll keep going up in price.

Indeed, but most owners have only got one of his hauls. (That's a guestimate)
I just feel Deeney/Ighalo with Capoue 5th mid makes him transferable especially if the profit enables a wanted upgrade and possibly saves a transfer down the line.

    Foster ---- Jaku

    --- McAuley -- Amat -- Lovren -- Friend -- A. Smith

    --- KDB -- Antonio -- Sterling -- Firmino -- Capoue

    Aguero -- Deeney -- Lukaku

Playing around with this. I've cut corners with the back four but delighted with front 8. Have enough to do KDB ----> Sanchez. Thoughts

Problem is if he is actually the real deal and a viable 4th mid, then you have to pay 5m plus to get him back. I think he saves transfers in the short term, I had no problem having him ready as my 1st sub once I heard the Firmino news last week.

Have you considered cashing in the 0.3M on Capoue after tonight?

If I was on wildcard I'd imagine I'd sell. I always like to make that mistake every year of thinking a certain player won't keep it up.

Yeah, I've looked at it, especially with Feeney and Holebas pencilled in my current WC team, but as Ziegler says I'll probably see how his great run plays out. Even if he blanks the next two GWs he still probably rises 0.3 more due to sitting toward the top of the midfield points list.

That said, if he and Jaku rise tonight I could ship them to turn Williams into Baines. Speaking of which:

    A) Lovren, Baines, Francis, Holebas, Amat
    OR
    B) Lovren, Williams, Stones, Holebas, Amat

No I didn't. I'm quite reluctant though for the reasons Ziegler expressed.

What price did you get McAuley at? He is 0.3 m more expensive than Evans, unless you had him from the start. Seems like that kind of amount would solve some problems for you.
I have him from the start. I could cash in £0.1m from him but feel he's better than Evans long term.
Option B for me. Rotating Capoue and Diomande just doesn't feel right to me.

Out of interest, have you thought of going with KDB + Walcott over Sterling + Sanchez? 1.0m cheaper.
I didn't. Is Walcott nailed though?
    Shedite27 wrote: »
Diomanade only played 41mins because of the sending off, he was sacrificed for another defender. But as you say, you'd likely play Capoue anyway.

Have a look at your starting XI's.
Regardless of which option, you're going to play Sanchez/Antonio/Firmino/Lukaku/Aguero.
    Option 1: KDB and Capoue
    Option 2: Sterling and Deeney

For me it's stick with Option 1, it's an esy transfer to go to ditch Sanchez/KDB and Capoue and get a balanced 2 whenever Capoue dries up.

As an aside, very similar to my wildcard team. Front 8 currently.... Sanchez/Firmino/Antonio/Capoue
    Aguero/Costa/Lukaku
(Fletcher for the 2pts on the bench)
Yeah that's the conclusion I came up to too. Costa means a second £4.5m mid but that's the same than Diomandé upfront.

You're making a good point re-starting XI. Con is I really rely on Capoue, and can't get Rashford for Stoke next GW for free if he looks like starting.

I think I'd actually give up playing if that happened to me, the psychological trauma would be too much!

Jesus it's tough going having Sanchez, KDB, Aguero, Zlatan all in the same team while keeping a balance of decent'ish players around em'

Lots of rumours about that Jakupovic may be about to lose his place for Hull. Might be one to reconsider.

You need Aguero. I think you need to ask a separate question for your other striker.

I've spent approximately 5 minutes thinking about my wildcard all week.

With the amount of tea I'll go through tonight there's a fair chance that Barry could end up as my cheap 5th midfielder!

    Heaton Pickford
    Morgan Williams Lovren Evabs Amat
    Sanchez Firmino Maloney Capoue Antonio
    Benteke Aguero Ibra

    I've decided on:

    Heaton (Pickford)
    Williams Holebas Evans (Amat, Gibson)

    Prefer that the earlier effort.

    I'm currently on:

    Heaton (Pickford)
    Williams Lovren Stones (Amat, Holebas)
    Antonio Sterling Firmino Sanchez (Capoue)
    Lukaku Deeney Kun

Haven't really ventured far from my original team last Monday, but here's my Wildcard effort (seems very similar to a lot around here)....

    Foster (Jaku)
Vertongen - Baines - Lovren (Amat, Lenihen)
Sanchez - Firmino - Capoue - Antonio (Fletcher)
    Augero - Costa - Lukaku

Probably do Jako - Pickford in the morning.

I hate having Costa in my team, could get Ibra but would mean ditching Sanchez who is essential in my eyes for the next month.

No rotating, no selection dilemmas, just 2 points coming off the bench whenever needed.

BTW seeing a lot of Capoue in brackets. Are people really going to leave him on the bench for... burnley, BOURNEMOUTH, middlesborough, swansea, HULL?

If so, then you're likely never going to play him anyway so just save yourself .5ish and get a 4.4mid

  • Registered Users Posts: 630 ✭✭✭Henwin

    my wildcard team
    Foster
    Smith McCauley Collins
    Capoue De Brunye Sanchez Antonio
    Costa Aguero Deeney
    Subs-jakupovic, gibson, kingsley, Barry

First one I've seen with a 3.9M defender. Thought there would be a few more.

    Pickford (Jaku)
    Baines Lovran Evans (Amat, Friend)

Antonio Snodgrass Sterling Sanchez Capoue (unsure who to bench)

    Lukaku Costa Kun

Any possible improvements? 0.6 in the bank.

    Just did a quick wildcard:

    Foster Jak
    Friend, Amat, Williams, Pieterson, McAuley
    Sterling, Capoue, Sanchez, Firmino, Chadli
Aguero, Ibra and a blank space...

Need a cheapish forward for 5.3 or under to finish off....Diomande or Kone or any other suggestions?

Downgrade chadli to someone like puncheon or snodgrass
Use the extra money to get a decent 3rd striker

Decent team, Prodl would be one I'd worry bout, he's not first-choice at the moment. Either him or Kaboul is the "big man" in the defence and I reckon Kaboul will get the nod.

Use the 0.6 to get yourself a keeper. Maybe Mandala if ya want to keep it cheap.

You're gonna bench a cheap striker anyway so I'd just go cheap as chips up top and use the .8 or whatever to upgrade a defender ("Pieterson" :D to Morgan/Stones?)

It's been a real struggle this week.

The keeper situation at Hull could be about to ruin my team but I think I'll gamble.

    Pickford, Jaku

    Baines, Stones, Lovern, Amat, muck

    KDB, Mane, Firmino, Walcott, muck

    Kun, Lukaku, Benteke

Firstly, don't think I'm falling for LFC bias as a fan. I'm not. Mane and Firmino are there on merit.

I think my defence is a mess. Holebas impressed me recently but he could be injured.

I have so many options. I could downgrade Baines to Williams or Holebas and upgrade Jaku but I really wanted Baines.

I know I can have players I want in defence with current budget but I'm not finding a combo I like.

    Maybe -

    Foster, Pickford

    Stones, Williams, Holebas, Amat, muck

There are a good few options / combos but not sure if I'll land on one I like.

Stones is also a selection worry with Kolarov startling centrally ahead of him recently but I do think Stones will cement his place sooner rather than later.

It's still speculation. But it smells pretty strong. As a big money signing for them it was always inevitable sooner or later. Jakupovic did well to hold on this long.

Watford do have some nice fixtures coming up though. I've ended up with 3 of their players.....Holebas/Capoue/Deeney

Really not sold on Capoue but budget won't allow me better (want Bolaise)
