I think if your wildcarding early the best thing to do is get BB out of the way in a sgw. I found it a nightmare trying to set up bb in and around getting in dgw players last yr without the wildcard. I also feel its no harm to have 15 good options once you can handle points on your bench which is inevitable. I'd definetly have 2 playing keepers for 2nd half of season due to blanks and dgws. Barnes 4.5 is another option as a striker and 5 strong midfielder if you wanted to go down that route

I'm thinking of using it in GW22. Bench would be:

    Hennessey home to Everton
    Stanislas home to Watford
    McAuley home to Sunderland
De Roon home to West Ham

Ye that's decent I'd probably prefer someone a bit more likely than de roon to score . Anything over 15 pts is a decent return IMO.

Ya De Roon is the weak link alright though he was getting forward a good bit against Leicester so could get lucky.

    I'm currently looking at:

    Cech - Pickford
    Aspi - Ake - Evans - Ward - Amat
Sanchez - Lallana - Alli - Phillips - de Roon
    Costa - Ibra - Benteke

    Any thoughts?

That francis red card may force me to wildcard. I may now have 1 issue too many in my team.

I felt it was harsh. Is it a 3 game ban atm? Could be appealed perhaps.

Yeah, one of the matches in FA Cup

    Do we now consider giroud

I don't think so. I think Wenger realises Sanchez is his best striker.

When Ozil, Walcott, Ramsey, Ox and Iwobi are all available then I think Giroud drops out for Sanchez.

Trying to work a wildcard around having:

    Sanchez-Lallana-Phillips

    Ibra-Costa-Aguero

Proving difficult. Especially wanting Spurs cover.

I'm having second thoughts about Walcott now tbh
Perez seems to be an option

2 league matches I've amat and Evans injured as other defenders. I also need a 2nd keeper. Origi needs to go aswell and I want to get Chelsea coverage. Probably best to just sort it out now. I also want to set up a team for BB in the next few gws.

    Charlie Adam 4.7

He is on the NEVER again list . Is this is just to let ye know :D

    Wildcard draft of:

    https://gyazo.com/81b15482e9d6b426511cfaef6ba8365d

    3 premium defenders tho :/

    Edit:

    My plan would be:

    Cech/Foster rotate.

    Valencia/Vert/Alonso with Pieters rotating.

    Sanchez/Lallana/Phillips / Snodgrass

    Defoe / Costa / Aguero

None of my Rivals seem to have Aguero so I don't feel I have to worry about him as much.

    Any excuse....
Seriously though I'm set up that way now and assuming I'll BB fairly soon too.
The Pickford injury/keeping Origi and bringing in Grant has me now completely turned on how I'll play my WC and the DGWs

Kos went off after 64 minutes for Arsenal tonight
If he is out for even a month Gabriel will replace jones for me

I think Giroud has played his way into the first team.

    Walcott Ozil Sanchez
    Giroud

will be the front 4 when everyone is fit imo.

He is tempting me now TBH
    Lovely fixtures
Could leave Walcott and go for Stanislas as my 5th mid
Can't chance afobe now anyway so he could be giroud
Need to look at it tomorrow

Would be a bit short to have stanislas 5th mid
Jesus my head is wrecked already
So much easier to have a dud goalie defender and midfielder :D

I had planned to get in giroud for next gw.
his performance tonight means a lot will consider him
he is currently at 2.9% ownership.
that will have doubled by next match.
Although away to Swansea doesn't have the same ring to it since they have a new manager in

I think my team needs to WC but I've no clear idea what to do. Never follow this closely during Xmas :p. Any new manager application accepted :p.

    Heaton Foster
    Alonso McAuley Pieters Holebas Amat
Sanchez Pedro Eriksen Lallana De Roon
    Ibra Costa Benteke

Pulled the trigger who was I kidding:D. Im going to set it up for a gw 22 BB.
    Liverpool play swansea
    chelsea play hull
    arsenal play burnley
    Utd play stoke
A lot of the defenders you would pick have decent fixtures aswell.

I've got in Victor Valdes since I posted that , hoping Boro keep a clean sheet the week I BB

Looking at my team for GW22, it has decent fixtures all round apart from Alli away to Man City and Heaton away to Arsenal but he picks up lots of save points anyway. Neil Taylor also on my bench away to Liverpool so I'd need to get rid of him and maybe get Aké in who has Watford at home that gameweek. I'll look to bank this gameweek unless Benteke is out long term with his shoulder injury. I've already wildcarded by the way.

The team is much better with Sanchez up front, but it requires Theo being fit since he and Alexis swap positions very well. Giroud will find himself on the bench again most matches and coming on as an impact sub

What's the story with Theo? Nearly fit?

Think Giroud worth a punt for next 3 GWs?

If he didn't have a setback, Theo will be back next PL match.
Circumstances the last three matches fell perfectly for Giroud (Theo, Ox, Ozil injuries), I think it's unlikely he'll start the next three PL matches as well. He's scored well, but he also scored a bunch off the bench and still couldn't get a start

Surely when all Arsenal are fit the only 2 guaranteed a start are Sanchez and Ozil. That's it !

Buy anybody else and you're biting nails prior to the team sheet coming out.

    So reluctant to sell hazard.
Would still prefer him over costa . Hopefully tonight helps me make my mind up.
Barnes with Ibra and another big striker still allows me to keep hazard . Also get coutinho instead of Lallana
It's almost coming down to costa and Alli or hazard and Kane at this stage .
Would have to go cheap for my 5th mid if I keep him though. Charlie Adam or stanislas the 2 options I'm looking at. Couldn't see myself playing Barnes too often tbh but I'll have options in defence as well.
I've always been a 343 non rotation man though. This is wrecking my head :D

Well best scoring week in a long time 61(-4) with 3 to play, so happy be with my team.
Shame it contains Jaku, Nyom, Holgate, Francis,Zaha, and Llorente, so WC it is.
    Currently
    Randolph/Foster
    Charlie,Brunt,Gibson,Alonso,Jones,
    Sanchez,Philips,Lallana,Alli,Carrick,
    Costa, Ibra, and Defoe
.3 in the bank any thoughts?

I've come around to the costar Ibra defoe frontline now too
Defoe is just the most reliable of the 3rd strikers
I'll have stanislas for your Carrick (will not play Phillips next week )
Damn near same defence except I've gone for chambers who is .4 cheaper than Gibson .......not sure I'll keep Jones either . You have 2 4.8 defenders at least one won't play each week so I'd say move to one to chambers
Also going cheaper in goals with grant possibly Hennessy or mannone or Randolph
Currently have both Heaton and foster and at least one is going
    Nice team :D

Thanks, I hope your team does very well:D. I got Gibson some time back at 4.5m so reluctant to let him go, might ditch Brunt instead, bring in Chambers or maybe bring back Nyom if he comes home from the ACON. Stanislas is tempting, also would like Baines or Rose.
Sanchez/Lallana/Philips is starting to become part of a template now.

    Ah yes keep Gibson so
I'd prob sell foster for grant
Stoke just keep getting clean sheets
Spotted Neil Taylor is 4.2 as well but who knows if he will remain first choice

After a lot of chopping and changing currently on:

    Heaton, Mannone
    Brunt,Pieters, Chambers, Ake, Ward
Sanchez, Pedro, Alli, Phillips, De Roon
    Aguero, Costa, Kane

    with 0.1 itb

2 playing GKs, cheap defence bar Brunt but all regular starters (at the moment!)
    and a strong front seven

Considering dropping Aguero for Ibra and using the funds to swap Heaton for Courtois, filling the Alonso shaped gap in my defence or maybe to just tweak up the defence a bit (Ake to Daniels?)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,256 ✭✭✭✭km79

Finally settled on defoe and now west ham have bid for him
Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing !

I'd be surprised if they sell him, without him they are pretty much destined for relegation and it's not like they are going to get much money for him either.

Daniels is now the 3rd highest scoring defender in the FPL making him almost a must have unfortunately.

Don't worry, West Ham will offer pittance for the next month, then come out with some crap at the end of the transfer window where they sign Anichebe instead

Haven't wildcarded yet, but thinking strongly of going to this.

    Randolph Hennessy

    Alonso Brunt Rose (Pieters Chambers)

    Hazard Phillips Sanchez Alli (Cabaye)

    Ibra Costa (Barnes)

Gives me flexibility to go to any formation depending on fixtures and would bench boost fairly soon.

    Any thoughts?

Would depend on the fixtures of the Gw. Prob 3-5-2 because palace and west brom have a nice run of games coming up.

I'd be iffy on Cabaye or any other Palace mid until we see a bit more from them under Sam. I was tempted to put Townsend in my team but glad I held off for now.

My big decision is Hazard or Kane? Will be keeping Costa and Alli.

Yeah I'm not overly keen on both but will be taking one. Leaning towards Kane as it's an easy switch to Lukaku for his amazing run of fixtures

Edit: might just go Lukaku + money itb actually
