Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Flashing ZGemma free to air box

Hi, I'm looking for some recommendations if anybody can help?

I have a ZGemma Star S box that I was using to watch terrestrial channels hooked up to an old satellite dish. However the box seems now to have stopped working and just says "boot" on the front. I've done some research online and it seems to need to be re-flashed (I'm not a technical person and when I have tried to follow the online instructions I've had no luck).

Does anybody know of any bricks and mortar shops in Dublin City that would be able to re-flash this for me? If anyone has any details that would be greatly appreciated, by reply or PM.

    Thanks

these boxes are known for faults, did you pay a lot for it? and they sell clones as well. Its not easy to fix and its pot luck if it starts working again. can you go back to where you bought it?

Have you tried a different usb key
Some boxes can be a little tetchy with some usb keys
I think the kingston keys seem to be well accepted
also smaller is better try a 4 or 8 gig key

Also some receivers can only be flashed through the rear usb port

Worth a try before consigning it to the bin

    The instructions are straightforward enough

    http://www.zgemma.tv/Zgemma-Star-H2/ZGEMMA_STAR_series(H1&2S&H2&S)_upgrade_steps.pdf

Common mistakes would be forgetting to unzip the file before copying it to the usb key

    Thanks for the replies

I bought it online a while ago and hsd no issue with it until recently, so no chance of a refund I don't think.

I've tried several USB keys, with various images and I've followed all instructions for flashing but the front of the box is showing a 'flash' then 'boot' cycle.

Does anybody know of a shop in Dublin city that might be able to have a look at this for me, as I've tried all the variables that I can see, to try and get it working again but to no avail.

    Thanks

Think you need to hold in the volume key or channel key on the actual box to flash it
