    Is there any non 1850/1890 number I can Ring to switch to El Ireland?

    If you would like to register as an Electric Ireland customer and avail of savings, you can do so online here.

    Alternatively, you can call our team on 00353 1 8529534.

    You can then request to speak with a member of our Sales team. They are available from 8am tp 8pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5:30pm on Saturdays.

    Thanks, have used that number but staff will not handle the switching. Strange I thought.

    Thank you for reply.

    We regret any confusion. The number provided by my colleague is for our general Customer Service. Once through, they would need to transfer you to the Sales department to avail of the savings for switching. If the phone-line for the Sales team was too busy they would not have been able to transfer you. The only direct number for our Sales team is 1850 305 090.

    Thank you for switching to Electric Ireland.

    It may take longer to receive a notification. Did you change suppliers or was the supply already with Electric Ireland? It can take up to 20 working days for a change of supplier to complete.

    If you would like us to check that the switch is in progress or if it has completed, please send us a private message with the following details:
    • Your full name
    • Your account number or MPRN or GPRN
    • The first line of your address
    • Your contact number or date of birth
    • Confirmation you are the account holder (a sentence stating this is sufficient)

    We can then look into your query for you.

    just got a letter from esb networks to say the connection agreement is 50htz 24hr meter etc, is this a routine letter,as cannot remember getting one before?

    Thank you for your post.

    ESB Networks will send a connection letter to customers of all electricity providers.

    ESB Networks is the company responsible for the electricity meters in every home and business in the country, as they maintain the electricity network for all suppliers. They read the meters, complete all electricity meter works and restore power where there are faults.

    The letter is just confirmation that your electricity supplier has notified them that you are registered at the property.
