Poolbeg - What is that platform in the water?

Was walking the Great South Wall this evening and there's a platform that's been intalled next to the pier. There's a couple of blokes working on it. Seems to have sort of drill on it and looks a bit like a tiny oil rig!

Can any tell me what it's for?

Probably doing drilling for core samples possibly for foundations for a new jetty for the power station which is under construction. Will check/ask around later.

It's a dredger according to AIS.

looks like the yoke they had out working on the harbour in howth last year and over the winter. was used for taking seabed samples and then used in the harbour for pile driving struts into the harbour to make a fishing boat pontoon
