    Such a beautiful song ha

Such a 'bummer' that we don't see music of this level so often. Truly revolutionising :P

If you only listen to the same artists over and over again then it's not as hard to pick out one.

But most people listen to a new album or two per week, it's incredibly difficult to pick a single track..

Van Morrison, Philosophers Stone (pretty much any live version)

Number 1 for me. Lucky enough to have been there for one of the nights.

A near impossible thing to do, pick your all time favourite song.

I'd have to say "Teenage Kicks", probably influenced by the fact that I'm a Derry man.

Other than that, probably either One Headlight by the Wallflowers, Catch the Wind by Donovan or something by The The (probably Heartland)

Otis Redding - (Sittin' on) The dock of the bay. Never changes, always my favourite.

I can actually remember when this came out, I was about eleven. I remember recording it onto a tape and playing it over and over again and also watching the Top 30 Hits on Network 2 just to catch those ten second glimpses of the video (we didn't have MTV). I also remeber it never made it to number one and I was completely disheartened by that fact.

It's a song that whenever I hear it, even 17 years later, I still get hooked and want to listen to the whole thing over and over again. I'm not much of a dancer but if you want to get me moving, put this on.

It might not be my favourite song of all time, I reckon that's a pretty tricky thing to quantify, but it's definitely one that I'll keep listening to and enjoying 'til the day I die.

Hard to answer that one. I have so many favourites but for some reason my first thought on reading the thread was Mother and Child Reunion by Paul Simon

    I don't like Mondays - Boomtown Rats

Not sure why, I always liked it, maybe because of the 'true life' story behind it.

    Okay two I really like

There is a light that never goes out - The Smiths

    Or

She's Lost Control - Joy Division

    Hmm

Different ones different days, but reaching back, Everybodys Talkin Harry Neilsen is about there always.
Difficult guy, third wife from Connemara.
Don't like Mondays is also epic. A great single.

When played at high volume, One by Metallica is mind blowing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,281 ✭✭✭Gmol

Probably .Honesty is no excuse by Thin Lizzy, it's so different from the more recognizable stuff they did .

Honourable mentions to For no one Beatles.
Windmills of your mind . Noel Harrison,
    Wheels with wheels Rory Gallagher.
    Ramble on Zepplin.
