Essentially- the EU Commission reviews tax collection and expenditure in each member state at least annually (any who received bailouts- even those who have exited them- until they have repaid at least 75% of the borrowed monies- in Ireland's case this will be the year 2031- get more closer scrutiny).

Ireland's latest report (yesterday) contains the following:

    1. Criticism of escalating rents in Ireland
    2. Criticism of the freezing of property tax (it shouldn't be frozen)
    3. A Warning against the phasing out of USC
    4. A Warning over the length of the suspension of Water Charges
    5. A commentary on the risk of Brexit to the Irish economy
    6. A commentary on Ireland's commitments to EU Frameworks (specifically mentioning the Water Framework Directive- and our non-compliance with it, while water charges remain suspended)
    7. A warning about the fiscal consequences of repaying people who paid water charges in good faith- or not chasing those who did not.
    8. Criticism of a Fianna Fáil motion in the Dáil to cap mortgage rates charged by the banks
    9. Praise of the latest deal by the State with the Pharmaceutical sector to save 700million on medicine bills........
    10. Praise of the speed in which Ireland exited the Commission's excessive deficit Procedure (last May) but a call for tighter scrutiny of our finances- particularly on the expenditure side.
