Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Replacing V belt on Aygo/C1/107

Looks fairly simple, no aircon so just need to be looped around the crankshaft and alternator with waterpump in the middle.

I've never replaced one of these so just curious about how to adjust tension to allow the old belt to come off and new one to go on. Looking at it, seems like a couple of nuts can be undone to allow the alternator to move back and forth - sound rite? If so, when I put the new belt on, can I just pull the alternator back by hand to tighten things up or do I need a special tool?

    Thanks

I thought these had a flat ribbed belt? That should not require changing for a long time.

You're correct - however its frayed/damaged so need to replace it.
