    Hi
    Just wondering if anyone has recently completed the first year, my son is going to do this course to give him a better idea of which strand of engineering to do. Some say that it would be hard to go into second year of the chosen engineering course because you would have missed some of the work they did in first year... would appreciate feedback

    Hi there,

    He says that, if the student is interested in one particular engineering strand at the outset, they will probably not change their mind by doing this year. He found the mathematics quite difficult. He thought he wanted to do mechanical engineering at the start and he still wants to do it!

    Thanks for that. He hasn't decided on a stream so this would probably suit him. What level has your son moved into
