Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

CV joint knocking

    hi when i turn right when driving theres knocking i think it could be cv joint but i looked at both of them and theres no boot cut or cracked could it be inner cv joint or outer cv joint and what cost its vw polo 97 thanks for advise

    If it's only happening when turning its highly unlikely it's the inner joint.

    Its your cv.
    Are you sure there is no boot damage?

    outer cv joint or inner no boot damage there sound would cv joint break its knocking with 6 months

    Please use proper punctuation. It makes it easier for everyone else.

    On topic, yes it sounds like the CV joint.
    A local mechanic will inspect it and give you a quote. Probably around 150 with labour, give or take.

    I had to get both my c.v. joints cut off and replaced at the front.€400 it cost.

    This time next year I'll have a jag!:-) At the moment an older run of the mill car,probably got screwed on the price of the c.v. joints to be fair.
