    I always tell the truth

    even when I lie.

I was going to say I'm sure not everyone appreciates that as a good quality.

Then I saw the other thing.

I think I should get both parachutes !!!

I am strong-willed and never allow myself to be used by women solely for my disproportionately large mickey.

I think that might actually be your head!! :D

...never allow myself to be used by women solely for my disproportionately large mickey.

We'll see about that! PM sent :D

I'm funny, sympathetic, a good listener, incredibly loyal, romantic (is that a quality?) and know when to be serious or laid back about things.

As an Irish person I find it hard to give myself praise and feel like I should write down "can be moody as fûck" to balance it out.

You're right, I've allowed a lot of women to use me purely to ride the one-eyed trouser-snake. I'm a slag :(

I suspect there'd be way more serious replies if I asked what people hate about themselves, which is sad. :(

I have an absurd sense of loyalty - which seldom survives the test of reality.
So they tell me I expect too much from people and that I'm naive.
Not sure if this counts as a quality.

Sad but true. I could rattle off a list in seconds.

I'm always debasing myself by allowing women to use me for my oversized pork-sword, and then lying about it online and pretending I'm all virtuous 'n' stuff. :(

No doubt about it, my modesty.

I'm strong. (Though not physically. I once pulled a muscle lifting an 8lb turkey)
I'm independent. (And I don't need no man.)
I'm kind (if I like you)
I'm loyal and fiercely protective over my friends and family.
I seem to be able to knock a bit of craic out of most things and laugh at all my own jokes so nobody else has to pretend they're funny.

To paraphrase what Tony O'Reilly said about the Jesuits, who educated him :

'I thank God for my outstanding humility..... every day' :))))

I'm open minded, non judgemental and I'm kind and friendly. I'm a strong person and I'm generally quite positive and optimistic. I have my bad points but they never involve being a dick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,306 ✭✭✭✭Drumpot

I like that i try harder to be a good father and husband then i do in succeeding in any other area of my life. I like that I try to teach my children to be happy with who they are and what they like , just be content with themselves. Be driven to do something that makes them happy.

I like that I accept I am not perfect and try to fix mistakes instead of self attack. I like that I am trying to learn compassion for myself because trying the rat race way made me desperately unhappy and self critical.

I stay calm in difficult situations. People say nothing seems to bother me. I don't worry that much.
I did like how I dealt with man who we came across on the road while driving to mass on a Sunday, there was a car in front which stopped and more behind.
The man was laid out across the road semi conscious after falling off his bike. No one around wanted to take control of the situation as they seemed to freeze up. So I don't know what happened but I found myself in control of the situation. I had to stay in touch with the ambulance as they made their way to the scene, they could hear he was struggling to breathe and told me what to do, and it worked as he covered me in blood and saliva that had being going into his lungs.
It felt good helping someone in distress, but it took a long time for the person to recover from what I heard as he had head injuries.

So I think I am good when faced with a difficult and challenging situation, as I stay calm and I don't panic.

    helpful if I can.
    read a lot of books.
do a lot of work on horseracing info and post the results on forums (this year I tipped 14/1 and 67/1 winners)
feed the birds in my garden every day of the year if possible, even the pigeons. The pigeons have trained me.

I'm the exact opposite of those "calm in a crisis" types. Also quite moody.

I am ridiculously loyal though, a great friend and make really nice brownies.

And brownies definitely counteract the moodiness :D

    1) Focused & goal oriented (wasn't always)
    2) Adaptable
    3) Ambitious & optimistic (these get me into trouble sometimes) ;)
    4) Philosophical
    5) Patient (life has forced this one on me, but that's mostly a good thing)
    6) Reflective with the ability for self-renewal
    7) Naivety (you need a bit - it's healthy - keeps life interesting) :D

I'm good fun to be around, and will try to inject a bit of humour into a conversation or situation where appropriate. I don't believe we should take life too seriously, so other than catastrophic events in people's lives, I believe laughter is the best medicine and can help give a little perspective.

Conversely, I'm quite good at listening and giving advice when people have issues with work/ relationships etc.

I am ambitious, with the thickest and strongest neck around. I have an abnormally massive tolerance to shame and abuse. I can be loyal but only when it suits. I can be discrete but it might cost you.I will run over my mother to be popular, I have next to zero principles bar self preservation. I am a master in waffling. I am an outstanding liar and capable to defending indefensible, my huge ego and self entitlement does not match my ability but that allows me to survive.............................

I am , an Irish Politician

I'm borderline-obsessive about never being a pain in the hole or causing inconvenience to anyone.
I have no competitive instinct whatsoever.
    I don't take myself seriously.
I'm curious about everything and don't get bored easily.

Most importantly, I always indicate when exiting roundabouts.

that gas...one of the first things I thought of! Keep the faith, you are not completely alone.

Otherwise, Having empathy and consideration for others. Empathy can be a pain in the ass at times though.

Truth is I ain't all that humble

I'm really, really good at dealing with my neverending, painful, frustrating constipation in public environments. As well as the effects of taking three laxatives the night before.

I like that I am a positive person and that people feel generally more relaxed and slightly better after being in my company (or so I've been told).

I still buy most of my sh;t at bricks & mortar stores. Fook off with ya if I think I should do otherwise.
I have no problem using software that is officially "deprecated" by it's maker: like Picasa for Video Editing.

This thread really is an invitation for people to be utterly full of themselves. LOL

Lists being humble (being humble is for loosers , y'all, hell ye) than drones about about how great they are. Would be hilarious is such posters displayed, on this site , in previous and future posts, traits to the contrary of what they described here.

If I had to sit and wait for other people to praise my strengths in public, I'd have so many cobwebs between me and the chair that it would take Alexander the Great to chop through them.
