SATURDAY: Saturday will be mostly cloudy or overcast again. Rain will turn heavier and will persist for much of the day. Some thundery and sizable downpours are likely too. Winds will be very variable, and quite fresh at times. It'll turn noticeably cooler also.[/QUOTE]

ah noooo, any chance this could change?

Its the Friday forecast that's putting me off

Better to get set up early on the Friday even if it is raining, have a shower and enjoy a few beers afterwards. It would be torturous trying to get it done on the Saturday morning especially if it's raining and there's a big crowd trying to get into the campsite.

SATURDAY: Heavy, thundery rain in places Saturday morning will clear away northwards with sunny spells developing and mainly dry weather following for the afternoon and evening. With the clearance the weather will turn fresher and less humid with afternoon temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees. Turning cool Saturday night with temperatures falling to between 6 and 9 degrees.

This seems a more optimistic outlook for Saturday. (Taken from the met eireann website)

As a person with a disability, I'm going to need to bring some stuff with me on Saturday. If I can't bring a backpack, will a plastic bag be ok?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,440 ✭✭✭✭greenspurs

    " Do not Bring -
    Backpacks or Waistpacks"

Sorry can find link, but it is on the MCD release ...

You'll probably need to make it known in advance if you're taking in medication (I'm assuming).

You could also email MCD (details here: https://mcd.ie/contact-us/ )

    http://slanecastle.ie/castle/castle_faqs.php
Q: I am diabetic and need someone to go to take/to store my insulin

A: Please notify security at the gates in advance of being searched that you are carrying such items. Please bring official supporting medical documentation to avoid any issues on the day. Please approach the medical tent at the event and a member of medical staff will be happy to assist you accordingly in relation to your requirements.

Anyone know if you can buy Dublin Bus tickets for Slane online? I can't find a link?

Edit: Just saw I can't get them online anymore. I'll have to pop down later.

There are private buses going too right?

Yeah there is coaches too but not sure of their details. Dublin bus must be purchased in advance and not available on the day

Crap news about the weather but hopefully it isn't too bad. I'll just put the wellies in a back back just in case... Oh... Wait :-(

I think Dublin Bus tickets are gone off sale but Marathon have buses going where you cna pay on the day.

Dealz have 2 for 1.50, they are like plastic bags, really just single use but work and slip into a trouser pocket.

I was saying the possibility of people having gigantic ones full of bars they plan to sell inside, would take ages to search through.

I would be utterly amazed if they confiscated the vast majority of regular small backpacks people bring to slane -it would be all over the media if they did. In a previous year they retracted this supposed ban.

Would you think there will be another act announced so soon to the gig?

    Seems unlikely to me.
