Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Robbie will start and captain the side in his final match. Here is the line-up:

Ireland: Westwood (GK), Christie, Wilson, Clark, Brady, Quinn, Whelan, Arter, Long, KEANE (C), Walters.

Nice to see Westwood, Wilson, Christie and Arter featuring again. It would be terrific if Robbie could sign off by adding to his goal collection as well.

Gotta be Wilson at LB and Brady pushed up on the wing yeah?

I like the look of that team though I'm surprised that Westwood starts after his howler at the weekend.... unless MoN didn't see it. :pac:

Wilson looks like CB, unless I'm missing somebody (Clark aside)

Brady playing well I guess he isn't getting a transfer tonight.

Was hoping the Brady at lb thing had ended, looks like it hasn't.

Robbie will be the focal point of the attack which kind of makes any further analysis redundant.

We won't be seeing it again and don't have a like for like replacement so unlikely to see this shape again anytime soon

  • Love to see Robbie score tonight

Surprised Hendrick is on the bench. Quite a day for him.

    Good chance for Oman.

Limerick FC drew 2-2 with Oman at the Markets Field on Friday night, so i expect Ireland to score at least 2 or 3 with Robbie getting one!!

  • Oh FFS missed the goal, can't watch the match yet. TV still down :(

Great effort from Walters. I thought Keane was sure to get the rebound.

It's a testimonial and a warm up game. Take it for what it's worth and enjoy hammering someone for a change.

What's our record win and goals in a game does anyone know?

Why do Ireland keep playing Oman???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

Why are we playing dross like Oman? They couldn't beat Cork City or Limerick FC and have no place being at Lansdowne Road up against Ireland. What are Ireland going to get out of this, aside from a few quid?

Maybe they wanted a handy game for confidence.

Should really be in danger here.

I can only assume that Oman want to play more games against decent European teams and struck some sort of deal with the FAI?

  • TV back up and running and its half time :P

Or maybe the FAI wanted Oman to guarantee Robbie a goal :pac:

Maybe the CEO of the FAI would know

It's only Oman so you can't really judge too much BUT some absolutely amazing balls being played in behind and I really like Quinn and Brady's link up play.

Christie adds a nice bit of pace down the right hand side. I'd like to see him drive at his man a bit more and start driving into the box. He's well capable.

Keane's goal was sheer class and some nice little interplay between Brady/Walters and Keane. Bit of luck involved but a nicely worked goal and glad that he got the goal so we don't have to force our play around him too much.
