Dublin is drenched in water today. Warm however and the rain has eased off. Looking like a nice evening after all.:)

One of the tabloids are forecasting a 'party-time get-together' (not correct terms) between KARL and LISA next (mid) week.
They've included a nice Getty stock composite picture in the article for added dramatics.

Essentially they're claiming it will be a local remake of the B Movie: 'Perfect storm'

Where is sryanbruen? His forecasts were excellent all summer.

Can someone give me an idea on how October 1 will be in Galway?

Very heavy rain currently in Castlebar, heavy downpours look to be affecting many areas of the country judging by rainfall maps.

Any word on when MT will be rolling out his winter forecast

I'm very interested in what MT comes up with this year given the UkMO and some others are hinting at higher pressures in places to be common enough over the winter months that delivered our infamous 2010 Nov Dec northeasterlies

Temperature up and down in the showers ( 5mm so far ) here near Tralee. Got as low as 11.8C at 13.30. 14.1C atm.

Good sunshine all day mixed ith quick moving showers, quite an Autumnal feeling. Watching a flock of starlings clear out the entire stock of Elderberries in the garden a short time ago :)

I would have said we had more rain than shown on the model for yesterday here in Longford, mt Dillon being our closest measure, the rain here was persistent and heavy for at least 6 hours and was torrential at one stage.
When it cleared up though it was a great evening with stunning streamers showing in the evening.
Took this at a football match in Pearse park in Longford, its not a great pic but shows a bit of the stunning sky at that stage.

I had almost 9 that day and was just reporting what I'd heard
It wasn't heavy here just steady and wetting
Stopped raining here this morning after an overnight 8.6mm ,More likely later though
I hope this isn't a trend on the direction of weather systems :/

VERY wet yesterday in East galway
non stop train of heavy thundery downpours from morning till evening
    ground saturated
this week looks fairly dry though right ?
although latest met update mentions locally heavy rain tonight !

don't see it mentioned anywhere else or on met office predictive rainfall sequence
