Felt very cool earlier today here near Tralee when it was very Dull ,overcast and breezy , only a bit of mist. Sun came out in the afternoon making it pleasant enough getting up to 15.2C and remaining breezy from the East.

Cool now at 7.9C under a mainly clear sky apart from some thin high cloud.

And still it pours, definitely making up for the last few dry weeks here

There's nothing better than being in west Mayo in a south easterly airflow, with all the misery staying well to the east, and all the misery over the ocean staying well to the west, day 10 of perfection.

It wasn't exactly misery, i hadn't seen rain in nearly 3 weeks i'd say, it was just mad, the little strip of area that got the rain, like i said in another post, my mother who lives 10 mins south of us, saw no rain, and it was clear sky all night

much improved day here since earlier this afternoon, blue skies and not feeling too bad. In Fuengirola where I was last week, its been an absolute washout and only 17C there today after yesterdays gin blue skies and 30C.

Some noteworthy convection drifting in off the mighty little old Irish Sea this morning near Arklow, though the crow is local

Imagine what it would do with -10 850's drifting over it in December from the northeast :)

    That bird looks photoshopped in!

I was thinking the same, constant stream of showers here, Hopefully we will see similar patterns in December and January with something much colder!

    STATUS YELLOW

Rainfall Warning for Cork and Kerry
A spell of heavy rain is expected to develop on Friday over south Munster. It will continue overnight, before clearing northwards during Saturday morning. 25 to 40 mm of rain are expected, with the highest values expected over Kerry and west Cork.

    Issued:Thursday 13 October 2016 16:00
    Valid:Friday 14 October 2016 09:00 to Saturday 15 October 2016 09:00

At least the affected areas have had a good chance to dry since the last rain. Here in West Clare at least the grass is bone dry, if this dry spell continued for much longer some of the grass would have probably turned yellow with drought (Regularly happens in one section).

Chilly but dry with clear skies here in Longford. Sun not fully up yet but barely a cloud in sight and it seems we aren't getting rain till evening.

Looks like a terrible weekend ahead however next week should improve with HP taking charge to some extent. Really annoying for those of us 9 to 5'ers monday to friday workers. :(

Showers not as heavy in Dublin CC.

Lots of standing water around, probably due to DCC not bothering to clear the leaves and drains as usual

Clear blue skies here in castlebar with a light easterly wind. Beautiful morning

Some sun here in amongst the large cumulus drifting in from the Irish Sea and man there's a bite in that wind straight off the sea

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,003 ✭✭✭Lucreto

The sun being so low it's annoying travelling to and from work.

Blinded by the sun in the morning, clouds up during the day then the sun comes out to blind you on your way home.

Don't worry it will be gone into hiding for 6 months soon
