3hr-rain.gif?2000 showing very heavy rain right on the south coast, however this 3 hour forecast often over exaggerates things

The weakness of the sun is quite evident this morning, windless and completely sunny here in West Clare, and the temperature refuses to reach 9c.

Some more settled conditions on the way for mid next week due to a building scandi high. Mostly dry with some frosty nights. I'll take that for mid October :)

agreed, pleasant temperatures and barely any rain. Crisp and dry the way Autumn is meant to be!

Basically like last Autumn - Sept and Oct (certainly down here in Waterford) were very quiet and dry overall.

The south west appears to have got a lot of rain again in the last few days.
Think it will be one of those years where the difference between east and west rainfalls will be very significant.

Nice to get a decent Oct with the change in clock time but it hasn't been any way mild. Quite chilly. Heating went on here 20th September, one of the earliest yet.

Wow. Our Heating was put on for 3 hours each on two evenings last week. Thats 6 hours since last April....and its not like we live in a Passiv house or anything. I curse the dogs for 6 months of the year for wanting the door left open because of the Flies and the other 6 months of the year because of the cold outside. I'm still cursing them for the flies here in Bray.

NB. Electric Tennis racket fly executioners...Best invention Evah!! :D

Great day here in Kerry 10.7C now in good sunshine , sky dotted with Cumulus cloud.

Sat Pic would have been earlier in the day.

I got soaked in that band that is running up the east coast now,it was very heavy for over an hour but only bright echoes from north Wexford northwards

Did it develop or is the met Eireann radar so borked now that it only gives proper readings as the precip gets closer to Dublin?
I'm suspecting the latter as it was the same last night

Scottish highlands could see some wintry showers tonight. I haven't heard any reports of settling snow yet for that area.

this autumn seems to be cooling down very fast now after a warm September, October already seems cooler than much of last December and January where temperatures often stayed at 12-14C through day and night! Today felt very chilly and tomorrow is meant to feel noticeably cooler.
