Passengers to remain on ferry overnight

A ferry from Rosslare to Fishguard failed to dock at the Welsh port due to poor weather conditions.

The Stena Line service left Rosslare at 9am and was due to arrive in Fishguard at 12.30pm.

It failed to reach the port and another attempt to dock at 3.30pm was also unsuccessful.

Stena Line said the ferry was about six kilometres off-shore and would remain there overnight with 87 passengers and 59 crew on board.

It said the safety of those on the vessel was "of paramount importance".

The company added that another attempt at docking would be made at around midday tomorrow.

    OMG.
I was looking at that ferry on marinetraffic at 2 pm and saw the ship's path and that it tried to dock at 12.30 and then it went on up the welsh coast and was then returning back to Fishguard at that time.
I forgot all about it after. I guess the passengers will never forget it though.

There was another ship at that time going around in circles off the wexford coast as well.

Dry clear morning here in Longford, 3 degrees, cloudless sky, a fresh breeze and no visible frost on vehicles or grass because of the breeze, feels very cold.

It's dry here with a cool strong wind. It's 4c.
There's still a bit of snow on the top of the Blackstairs mountain.

The wind died down here as well this morning but in the last few minutes there has been some extremely strong gusts, as strong as anything I got yesterday?

Snow capped Galteemore earlier this evening.

Very nice. It's a great mountain for snow (900m+) and very easy to climb.

It dipped to -5.8 at Markree Castle in Sligo yesterday morning (Nov 21st) which I believe is the lowest air temperature at the official ME stations so far this season?
