New ideas post gym disaster

So, yoyo dieter, all or nothing type here. Ex keto head who shifted a load of weight kept it off, lost motivation and found it all again.

Currently, 30yo office job very round about the edges and the cardiovascular endurance of a old dusty laboratory skeleton. Love my beer, dont really snack and dont massively have a sweet tooth just like my big portions, and am idle a lot.

last 12-18months I joined a gym was doing good, hurt my back was out again. Got physio, healed.

Then bought a house joined a new gym and THAT was going well until some scumbag decided he wanted to drive a car into it to burn it down.

Now im considering, knocking the loan wolf gym thing on the head and joining a team based sport (for fun).

I was in northwood, great price but packed constantly and far(ish) away. Then i gave Swords flyefit a go, hated it, jammers and wasnt a fan of the tiny changing rooms.

So based in the raheny area, thinking what beginner adult stuff was out there. Even bootcamp things or tag rugby or whatever. I played rugby and football in school but never kicked a soccer ball, that was always for watching with a pint in your hand.

    Any ideas/thoughts.

Join jiu jitsu.. you wont be long getting fit and have the crack with new people. Flexibility and strength will replace any unwanted weight. Iv seen quiet a few lose loads of weight and then stay at it because its a bit addictive..

    Crossfit?

    Get him!

Do you have money to burn, OP? Would you enjoy a fitness programme run by the kind of people you see in The Wolf of Wall Street?

Crossfit would tick a few of those boxes, but there are some side effects from sipping the koolaid, such as constantly talking about crossfit and paleo, and incurring the ire of people on Boards.ie (I quite enjoyed my time doing it but I found myself getting a bit too into it)

Go on fb and join the Tag Rugby Subs List . People are always looking for guys / girls to join a team for a league / sub in when theyre short on numbers. You can just pop a message up on it stating your experience (if any) and where you're based. Should get a few options. That or just respond to an SOS from someone looking for players
