122km to the finish and a strong 6-rider breakaway have just over a one minute lead.

David Lopez and Peter Kennaugh (Sky), Darwin Atapuma (BMC), Louis Meintjes (Lampre - Merida), Romain Hardy (Cofidis) and Gianluca Brambilla (Etixx - Quick Step).

It looks though like Movistar don't want to let this breakaway go.

barely on live and the 1st shot they get is atapuma hitting the deck

he was a bit upset, think he was more upset he couldnt get back on to the breakaway

1'22" lead for the breakaway with less than 40km to go.

No other teams have shown much interest in catching the breakaway apart from Movistar.

Edit: Astana are coming to the front now.

    Less than 13km to go.

Contador attacked on the final climb but was reeled back in fairly lively.

Lots of little attacks by non-GC riders on the final descent.

5km to go and the IAM rider Dries Devenyns has a 30 second lead... will he hold on!?!

Go on Devenyns! Big ask though as the vultures close in.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,425 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

Devenyns is going to be caught.

What the heck is Simon Yates doing up there :p

Poor ol' Carlton will probably be savaged for calling it a Movistar winner rather than Orica. Keukeleire the winner well ahead of an angry rider (Bouet?) from EQS.

    keukelire from orica

I know the Movistar and Orica jerseys are similar... but Carlton you plonker.

Bouet finished second with Felline in third.

Kirby is well paid ...so I don;tthink its poor old Kirby....more poor old viewer ...He hadn't a clue there ...Called Bout Stybar and didn't know the winner for an age

This is the minimum for a commnetator ....Mayb if he didn;t spend all his time obsessing over a few rider he could learn to sport some more

In fact poor me as I pay a subscription for that ***t

Willyou stop with the poor old Carlton or I'll have to turn my attention to you :D:D:D:D:D

I think I will just ahve to live with how insane cycing is ...Yesterday at the Fjords race the peloton was racing in live traffic, every day Carlton is never ending on Si Clarke potential and who knows what they heck Juan Antionio is saying

Not sure is cycling big enough for the two of you! You should arrange a time-trial with Carlton and the loser has to bow out.

On that stage Quigley called a completely different winner than Leigh Howard. Then the highlights coverage ended. Amateur coverage all round on Bike channel.

Everyday we learn a little more about Carlton Kirby. Apparently his brother works in the film industry!

It says something about a commentator when they feel they have to mention their daily routine and family business during a broadcast. I'm surprised the excellent Simon Reed (head of Eurosport commentating team) hasn't had a quiet word at this stage. His punning on every other sentence is really annoying too.

    Thank goodness for highlights!
