Coolant often gets graded as Gxx, BMW car for example uses G48 available in Comma brand from Halfords (€25 for 5L) who also stock a few more Gxx types.

Failing to find the exact Gxx spec I would go with one of these two:

Link is not working on my phone. I have sourced honda type 2 coolant online for cheap enough. It's listed under cars but I'm sure it's the same stuff for bikes.

Cotters have an open day this weekend 25th and 26th March.
Shark Helmets from the Uk will be there with good deals.
Lots of tyre deals to be had too.
Also alot of clothing and tools reduced by a decent amount.

Picked up an Aldi catalogue today.

Wouldnt be too gone on the Aldi textile jackets or pants,
Youd get just as good a deal if not better in Cottters for that sort of gear.

The compression base layer is good value though.

Bluetooth headphone/intercom for 39 euro,be interesting to see what thats like.
Motorbike cover for a tenner, they are actually not too bad at all, have 3 of them here at home.

But a fiver for 200ml of WD40 chain lube/chain wax...sure you get a large can of it for under a tenner in most places.

The rest of the stuff is "meh".

No paddock stands, battery chargers, bike tools or anything like that though

1 litre bottles of Castrol Power 1 10W40 oil on clearance in Tesco (Waterford) for €4 each. Couldn't tell you if any other Tesco's have them.
    This one: http://www.halfords.ie/motoring/motorcycling/motorcycle-oils/castrol-power-1-4t-10w-40-motorcycle-engine-oil-1ltr

€15 a bottle in Halfrauds so a fairly decent bargain I think. Have it in two of my bikes and no complaints.

Regarding the aldi Bluetooth set. Would you need to buy 2 sets to communicate with another rider or does one set cover 2 Riders?

Are they any use? Worth a punt @ €40? Has anyone used them and what are they like?
Does it work as an intercom if e.g. your mate has one so you can chat when you are out on a spin?

Have one very like it that I got from China. I paid around €30 for mine and no complaints with it. Definitely worth a punt at €40 especially considering the 3 year warranty. If you have two they can be paired as an intercom (rider to pillion or rider to another rider) although I'd take the 500m range with a pinch of salt

Sound. Yeah I think I'll buy one. One of my mates has the same, and another has something very similar he got online - sounds like yours. Do you think the different makes would work together? Can you pair the bluetooth no matter what the make?

Why dont these bluetooth headsets come with normal stereo jacks?

Be great to wear normal earbuds or custom made earbuds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,903 ✭✭✭frozenfrozen

I think there's an idea for dragons den. I can't see why that shouldn't already be standard on all of those yokes.. makes perfect sense

I think ill invest in 2. Dont need them just yet but could be handy in the future.

Theres a crowd in the USA that convert all the SENA headsets to stereo jacks for normal earbuds.
But you have to send your headset all the way to the USA.

    Not exactly ideal.

You gets what you pays for.

I have a Scala rider Qz that takes a headphone jack for the speakers, still need the boom mic though.

The one I got has an FM radio and stereo jack built in.

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1000M-6-Riders-FM-Motorcycle-Intercom-A2DP-BT-Bluetooth-Wireless-Waterproof-Interphone-Helmet-Headset-Earphone-New/32686994434.html

Ignore the price; it's been inflated to look like a great deal in the upcoming "sale".

I paid c.$35. "Sale" price will be c.$33.

@Zascar - Wouldn't count on headsets from different manufacturers being compatible for intercom use.

Where does the mic go or is it mic and headphones in the same port ?

Took four weeks exactly from order to delivery and that was over Christmas.

The mic is on a flexible boom very similar to the Aldi one.

The earpads & mic connect by a single cable to the unit. You clamp or Velcro the unit to the outside of your helmet. Same connector port is used to charge it via USB. The stereo jack is separate and protected by a little rubber plug when not in use.

Can you use normal earbuds to listen to satnav and music then?

That's brilliant! So we can just plug in a set of earphones and the sound comes out from them and the voice goes in through the mic boom?

I may have typed too soon on that one. Haven't used the jack for headphones so going to try it later & report back. The jack may be just for connecting non-BT devices. :o

Me and about 8 other bikers raided the local Aldi store at 9am this morning.

Nobody touched the jackets or trousers though.
Just base layers and neck warmers.Oh and the bike covers.

Personally speaking........dont buy the gloves,no wrist or scaphoid protection on them.
They are cheap for a reason.

So the jack is a 2.5mm one.

All my earbuds & headphones have 3.5mm plugs so couldn't check but I suspect, having read the "Chinglish" manual that the jack is only for connecting devices without Bluetooth via an audio in cable.

If I can find an adapter I'll check to be 100%.
