    Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has an insight into the various Springboard ICT courses that are currently being run by Griffith, NCI, DBS and DIT? Which college did you choose and how was it? Did anyone do the online option with NCI, what was that like?

For the most part they seem to have fairly similar core content with some variations in the specialism. Finding it hard differentiate between them. Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks!

*Edit: I'm interested in the conversion programmes in computer science.

You might get better traction on the distance / part-time sub-forum, but for what its worth I can give you my insight into the Cloud Computing Level 8 I did with NCI.
Found it good and interesting. You would be correct in saying the core elements are all the same (UML, SQL, Java, Computer Architecture, HTML) - Semester 1. Then you branch out in Semester 2.
When I did Cloud (graduated November 2015) I found there was minimal 'cloud' elements to the course itself. We never actually set up a cloud service per se (such as deep diving into Amazon Web Services for example) we did create some Virtual Machines etc but really only scratched the surface.
Working full-time I found the schedule taxing ( M , W, F 18:00 - 22:00, Saturday all day). Found I had to take about 2 weeks holidays from work overall to get course work done. I think they've made steps to make certain courses less taxing now.
What I'm looking for now is something I can blend into work. Whether thats distance learning or something over a longer period but where I can convince my employer to let me go to a class 2 days a fortnight or something.
Grading was continuous assessment, exams and a Project. Lecturers were helpful.

Course cost €4500, if I had shelled that out I would not have been happy though.

If you have any specifics just let me know.
