Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Depends what model and year but they do generally heat up to operating temp fairly quick.
If its a newer mondeo or focus it likely has the active grille shutter on the radiator which helps.

The temp. gauge on the dashboard on these new Fords isn't real. It only has a few levels that it will display on the temp gauge and the needle will move over 60 degrees Celsius before the car even reaches 60 degrees. If the car is being trashed that it's sitting at 100 degrees Celsius the temp gauge will show 85.

I tested this with a diagnostic tool on my Focus which has the exact same instrument cluster as a mk1 Kuga! It's actually possible to reflash these clusters with a custom firmware so it shows the real engine temperature :)

The temp indicates coolant temperature. On some cars coolant gets up to temp very quickly.
It will take much longer for oil to get up to operating temp.
