So, just an update.

UCD has worked well to get us off the ground and so I was interested in a block booking with them so we have a weekly game, at a regular time. Unfortunately their terms suck - they want a minimum block booking of 6 months (which is good) but then demand full payment of €1400 up front (which is bad). They wont negotiate, so to have a weekly game at a regular time, we need to find another spot.

So, last Sunday I prowled around leafy South Dublin looking for a good facility, visiting 5 different places. Mostly private schools :pac: I've been in contact with others too and its come down to St. Benildus and Wesley College. I havent visited either of these yet but i'm going to check them out on Monday to see which is better/ handier for us.

I'm meeting the Groundsman/ Facilities Manager of Wesley on Tuesday. He is finalisibg his schedules for now/ winter. He says Thursday 8-9pm is good, and Tuesday should be good too, if we want a second night.

St. Benildus (which I am apparently pronouncing incorrectly :pac: ) seemed to be a favourite of some. It's booked for next week, Thursday 7-8pm, and the Facilities Manager there has promised that if we are happy, that block booking is ours.

So we're in good nick.
