Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Shít enough game so far.

    Kane should've already scored...

England look really poor, not a great game

First real bit of quality came in the last. Minute there with the whipped ball in from Rooney.

Not sure what it is with England. They've plated like this for so long under so many different managers. They are always worse than the sum of their parts. It's strange really because you see in the Pl these are good players.

England dominating possession, but doing nothing with it. It really does look like there is no game plan here whatsoever. Also, they have a real weak point in the two full back positions that the Slovakians need to be doing more to try and attack.

Sounds strangely familiar for some reason......

Rose is an awful footballer going forward and defending. Walker wouldn't be a weak spot for me, he's a decent player.

Decent yes but the better player is on the bench.

Its still the same tired selection from the last manager, nothing new. I like Dier but partnering him with Henderson in a two man midfield is dreadful. Rooney hasn't had a good game in about a year and Lallana is been played out of position..

What kind of face will Sturridge give if Vardy get's on before him I wonder.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,360 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Skrtel is still mental I see.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

How is Skrtel still on the pitch? He's already on a yellow card and he's done at least two further fouls since then. He should be off.

    He's just not very bright

About bloody time. He's a horrible player. That stamp was worth a red card on its own.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,943 ✭✭✭✭ShaneU

    Nasty stamp, nasty player.

    Skrtel will never, ever change.

Even taking off my lfc tinted specs anyone can see how much he has declined. He still has that odd bit of quality but playing such an influential position as no 10 it's hugely detrimental to the creativity of the team.

Thank God POOL got rid of him, with the new rules he"d give away at least 10 penos every year, and still not learn. PS: England are still sh1te

If the authorities seriously clamp down on holding/shirt pulling/grabbing in the penalty area, and stick to it, his career will go down the tubes PDQ. He'll be a liability, and no club will want him.

Walcott before Vardy or Sturridge when you are playing against 10 men.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,295 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

This is just as bad as their Euro peformances, maybe even worse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,205 ✭✭✭Gringo180

For a professional footballer how bad is Theo Walcotts first touch and technique in general.

this is standard Allardyce club stuff really, third last on MOTD style, the kind of game that is forgotten win lose or draw.

probably hundreds of these games at Bolton, West Ham etc.

Rooney still on the pitch :pac:

Doesn't matter. He hasn't scored a hat-trick therefore it's laughable he is still on the pitch.

Wasn't offside was it? The defender kicked the ball

Shaw, Barkley and Rashford not even in the squad is terrible.

England should be thinking long term and building the team around those guys with Ali, Sterling, Kane and Stones.

well Shaw went home with a knock, and Barkley isnt just going to turn it on after being in very average form. Cant include everyone

Big sam's celebration is the sign of a man under immense pressure already

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

Utterly abject performance by the team tonight. They looked totally clueless out there. And the late winner can't hide that fact. Gruesome fayre.

Slovakia had 0 shots and 36% possession, how did England not deserve it?

Didnt actually watch it (just had it on the PC while watching Narcos)

It's his first game and winning away at their closest rivals in group.

Fully understandable joy in my opinion

    Why?

Happy for Sam but he needs to do some serious thinking about some of those players and the system. There was basically no change from Roy. If Rooney plays he has to play up top and I don't think any of the other strikers have shown enough to say they're above him in the pecking order. The midfield if full of players who keep things ticking over but don't really influence things. Hopefully over time Sam will revert to a more direct style with a high tempo.

Delighted with the win but we made hard work of that. Skrtel getting sent off with 30 mins to go, should have resulted in us winning the game with plenty to spare but we lacked the cutting edge up front. Kane's confidence is shot by the looks of things. Think we'll top the group but Sam has an awful lot of work to do.

Looked to me more of a man relieved he wont be getting a slating by the papers in the morning.

Never seen sam that worked up before in a league game
