Looks like Le Galaxie were trolling us yesterday

    Let's recap.

The Gardai plucked your mate out as he's coming in, totally at random from 50,000 odd entrants, STRIP SEARCHED him with no probable cause and then lo and behold, he was carrying drugs.

    I think we'll agree that's unlikely?

I dont think you're getting this, hes a guy with no priors, no links to any kind of suspect behaviour, wasn't any suggestive build up that would link him to the DS.
Yes OFF COURSE the DS will randomly pick people ha ha can't believe you're even questioning this!! But just like customs im sure theres a technique to it.
When they pick someone how naive would it be to think they won't do a full search. Is the below how you imagine :D:D
DS"Have you got any drugs in your pocket"
    Punter "No"
    DS"Ok have a great day"

Band of Horses and Car Seat Headrest both playing Friday 1st  at Electric Fields in Scotland so rules them out for EP on Friday
They're both playing the Saturday at EOTR too so it just leaves the Sunday

Aoife Dooley put up an hour ago she would have a "‪***SUPER EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT COMING IN ABOUT A HALF AN HOUR*** #MeNerves ‬

possibly making an appearance of sort sort since she's an up and coming Irish comedian?

    There could be news yet!

It's basically the return of Guilty Pleasures. With the odd decent tune sneaking in.

Who needs Despacio when you've got this?

    No one.

The answer is no one.. ever!

New Valley Wolves are also pretty heavy. Caught them doing an afternoon slot at the B&S main stage a couple of years ago and very decent. Back there again this year.

The Pretenders will also rock out as per...

Checked out NVW earlier, they'll be on the list.

Not quite - https://www.theverge.com/2016/4/28/11521376/despacio-lcd-soundsystem-james-murphy-2manydjs-coachella-panorama - this was at the Picnic in 2015.

Yeah, it was just an attempt at a gag. Nailed it!

I was at Despacio in 2015, didn't really see the appeal of it tbh.

You know it will be a good picnic when......

...your kids, whose standard reaction to your attempts to play your own music in the car is howls of anguish, join you in an ear-splitting rendition of the chorus to Car Seat Headrest's 'Drunk drivers / Killer whales'. I'm welling up just thinking about it.

Nope it's just Soulwax, as in 2ManyDJ's, who did do the Radio Soulwax project :)

No, it's the same 2 guys, but they also have a live music band just called Soulwax. If you like their 2manydjs sets though, you might indeed like their own music. Their most recent album FROM DEEWEE is excellent.

Jaysus I wouldn't be relying on Youtube views to rate songs as good or bad. Didn't that Korean bloke get a couple of billion views?

Do you think there's any chance of getting him in the final announcement? We need a big name to save the Picnic

    :pac:

I have to say I made great use of that bar last year, it always seemed to be dead quiet so a handy place to stock up on pints. I have no idea what they were trying to achieve with the "motel" section of it though, rarely seen anyone in there or anything much going on. Might be more to it this year but I'd just pass it off as another corporate installation that's not worth a second glance to be honest.

I hope not. Trump might mistake him for that other nut job Korean and launch a couple of nukes. Normally I'd condone that sort of thing for Laois but not the weekend of the picnic.

Just spotted this the week before the Picnic in London, obviously Madness is already at EP but some other nice acts there that would make a juicy final announcement.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

You didn't see the appeal of a kick ass sound system playing excellent dance music for the night? Do you go to the Picnic for just the food or something?

    Despacio was class

Trying to put together a list of the heavier sort of bands playing, I need loud guitars and drums at various points over the weekend to keep me going.

    So far:

    New valley wolves
    Bitch falcon
    Wolff
    Otherkin

Probably throw the hot sprockets into that group as well.

Any other recommendations to check out?

    Japandroid
    Oh Boland
Brand new friend, little bit tamer but decent.

Its probably something the lineup is lacking but Car Seat Headrest, Japandroids and Pond are quite heavy in parts.
