Sigur Ros just announced a month-long European tour for mid-September to mid-October.

No Irish date and it seems to kick off a few weeks too late for Picnic.

On their site, it says they will tour with no support for the first time ever, playing two sets broken up by an intermission. Doesn't sound suited to festivals anyway so might count them out for EP.

Disappointing if there's no Irish show at all, though.

After the Valentines the loudest thing I've heard at EP. Great set.

The 10 minute sound check they did at the start was epic!!!! :D
Missed that. Could hear them & see the light flashes from a kilometre away on the way over from the main stage. They were making their presence known after the booking mix-up.

The fact theyve announced diddly-poo to date is a concern.

Diddly-boo? Nice one - they've a great back catalogue! Would prefer if they played a tent rather than the main stage though

    No it's diddly-poo, the diddly-boo tribute band.

Electric Ireland stage written all over it.

They made first announcements on March 1st last year so I'm sure it'll be the same this year. Not too long to wait now.

Elbow and Interpol announced for Pukkelpop and Victorious Festival a week before EP have just made their announcement.

Elbow already have two gigs here this month and then cork later in the summer, would be surprised if they appeared.

Interpol maybe, I'm still not convinced that they'll do a show purely due to the timing between their other gigs in London and Manchester.

Madness, should be due a bout with them?

think Interpol let it slip already that they were playing.

As for madness, I would definitely not be a fan. That said, if they pull crowds away from other acts I want to see - then I don't care too much

T'would be a lot better than the Coronas headlining anyways I'd say.

Week after electric picnic, wonder will we get any of these?

So my son was sitting at the main stage of Body and Soul in Stradbally today, along with hundreds of other teenagers. Leinster Schools Cross Country. He loved running round the site!

Hard to imagine all that going on in our absence.

That's actually a very good line up. If EP got some of those acts I'd be happy.

Probably a bit off topic but I got a ticket for Christmas and have never been before. I'm just wondering what the crowd is like at this? Are there a load of dodgy skangers? I won't be able to sleep a wink at it if i don't feel comfortable.

We're fcuking lovely and friendly. Ye'll be grand.

(A bit of devil dust will solve the sleep problem)

(Booze and tiredness will actually solve the sleep problem, I don't advocate devil dust, I... don't actually know what that is)

If you go with a group you are ok. But sadly yeah there are loads of "dodgy skanks " there.

There's no such thing as a dodgy skank, hazmat suit and double baggie the little chap and it's all good.

Only going with one other person :o What are the campsites like?

I don't even know why I was bought a ticket. This is not my thing at all :pac::pac:

I'd be leaving my friend on their own then. I'll just grin and bear it :L

I don't know if you can still register for the eco campsite - if so, do - it's likely to be much more civilized..
If not, camp in Joplin rather than Hendrix or Wilde and you'll be grand (if a little further from the entrance)
