07 Qashqai empty switch boxes

This might be a silly question so excuse my ignorance....but i have 2 empty switch boxes on my 07 1.6 Qashqai. I assume because they are empty they can be upgraded to something? At the moment there is only the headlight angle adjustment switch.
From looking at other dashes, there is an ESP button and stop/start button. Are these available to get fitted? If they are empty surely there is availability to attach a fuse from inside? Expensive? Stupid?
