Just a quick question, RG58 cable to my scanner listening only, which Cable is best the centre core a solid copper or the braided centre core or does it really matter for listening

I wouldn't imagine solid or stranded center will make a difference to listening.

Stranded center will be a bit more forgiving on bends in the cable.

RG-58 has a high loss factor in VHF and UHF frequencies. Only use it in runs less than 50 feet for frequencies above 100 MHz, and 20 feet for frequencies above 400 MHz.
