Help to remove stains from table top

Does anyone have any advice on how to remove the stains from this table top? Not entirely sure what caused them but think it might have been heat (repeated use of hot teapot with insufficient protection beneath it). Thanks very much.

Its either water or alcohol damage. There are loads of household remedies but I have used Colron's 'ring remover' with good effect. You may find it sold under other brand names in the usual hardware stores.
