Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dealership and online ownership change

Bought a car at an official dealership last week and traded in my old car. Dealer told me ownership would be sorted online. A day later sure enough my old car showed as having changed on motortax.ie , however this is not the case for the new car. Dealer maintains that he did it for both cars. Called Shannon, they cannot see a change either. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Is there a reason for a dealer to drag this out ?

Could be the original owner never gave the logbook in and dealer is waiting for this, did you see the logbook prior to sale? Perhaps there's finance on the car and dealer is clearing it?

Keep checked the status on the motortax.ie website. While the dealer can do it online quickly when transferring it into their name, it can take longer for Shannon to process a new owner and issue a new logbook. I'd give it another week and then start chasing the dealer.

We had a similar problem recently where a change of ownership didn't go through. When we looked up the transaction history the transaction was listed as being completed but the car was still showing as being registered in our garage code. We just had to redo the transfer, apparently it happens from time to time with the online system.

Saw the logbook, cartell check said it was finance free
