I'm clueless about gardening I'm afraid, looking for some help!
I recently moved into rented accommodation, the back garden, very small, has an area of grass, well, not so much grass as dock leaves really.
I'd like to tidy it up as best I can, how do I go about getting rid of docks and moss & helping some more grass to grow?

Is it the wrong time of year? The back garden is north- east facing.

Spray it with weed and feed designed for lawns. Do it fairly soon when there is prospect of a couple of dry days. Then mow it and keep mowing it. If you end up with a lot of dead patches you may need to brush in a bit of topsoil and some fresh seed. I think I would be inclined to do that next spring when you see how it is looking.
