Winter has arrived! I love sitting in on a Sunday night with the fire on, watching sunshine in Texas, snow in Green Bay or wind and rain in Seattle.

It's such an intriguing opener. The SNF game is as usual set to be a cracker.

16 games of Colts being soft as shíte.

    Let the misery begin!!!

    I completely agree.

Everyone complaining about the summer ending, whilst I'm thinking of dark, wet, cold nights with a roaring fire and hibernating with college ball on Saturday nights and NFL on Sunday nights. :D

Sky sports are literally showing the least interesting of all the early Sunday games.

Not my problem mind you. Just a bit strange

Yea, pretty awful choice alright. Chargers vs Chiefs, Bills vs Ravens, Vikings vs Titans. So many better options there.

I presume 'Red Zone' is an option?

regardless of being a packers fan or not i think its harsh to say its an awful choice.... like your gonna have 1 of the top 3 qbs in the league - the return of jordi nelson - and eddie lacy -

Then the more interesting team is the Jags - drafted Ramsey & Jack - getting in Jackson and plenty of other free agents - having a great offence already....

I think it will be a great game with 2 good exciting qbs and offenses.... I suppose you cant please everyone but i certainly think this is one of the better games to pick.... Bills vs Ravens could be awful to watch

I think it should be a good game. Regardless, Sky and the NFL will continue to shove the Jaguars down the UKs throat.

I agree - I think it's one of the more interesting games at that slot.

Plus the Jags are the only team at that time that are London-bound - which may have influenced the decision.

Hear, Hear! I'm curious to see how good the Jags are this year too. That is what is great about the NFL though, you could make a compelling case for most of the early games - everyone is optimistic that their team has improved in the offseason and want to see how the season is going to stack up. Of course week 1 can be a bit of a false start (Bills 31-0 over the Pats and the 49ers whipping the Vikes last year)

Totally agree. Its the game I would have chosen out of the 6pm starts. The packers are the packers and the jags are one of the most interesting teams in the NFL this year

Anyone know if SS Mix is showing Red Zone? And are they going to show Thursday night games all season?

Or is the whole schedule ad-hoc and one big guessing game?

NFL UK announced that Red Zone is SSMix for "the first month". It'll likely be in HD too I'd imagine

As for what happens with SSmix after that? Anyone's guess

Cheers. I'll take a look at that later on!

Will start a thread also and and gauge the numbers.

Edit: Can only get the site to load on my phone at the moment, so will be tonight before I could get anything up and running, unless somebody else wants to take the mantle.

I'd nearly say the packers @ jags game is the best of the 6pm games, really looking forward to seeing the jags this year, if that defence can play anywhere nears its individuals potential I could see them pulling quite a f this few upsets this year

Just reading that Doug Baldwin is saying the Seahawks players will have a "pregame demonstration of unity" on Sunday.

For some reason I'd hadn't realised that Sunday is 9/11 and it's the 15th anniversary. I'm know why kaepernick is doing it for a genuine reason(in his head anyway) but this could backfire more than it has already for him and others that might follow him on Sunday.

Ah, that Thursday night feeling of drifting off to sleep at around 10:30pm, trying to wake up in a panic for 1:30am so I don't miss anything, the game then not actually kicking off until 1:45am as I'm trying not to fall back asleep, and then being like a zombie in work all day on Friday thanks to staying up for the game. I've missed this. :pac:

What routines do you guys have when staying up late for the prime time games?

I used to stay up and watch them live but since my current job changed to different shifts I will go to bed and get up early and more often then not the condensed version is up and will watch that. It's nice not being in a nine to five job. I've never had one and probably wouldn't suit me or watching American sport.

When I lived in Ireland I used to watch a lot of games in my brother's house nearby, would arrive up on a Sunday with a few cans. Thursday night was a bit trickier...might have to go to the, ahem, first row, to watch that sport while I was in the EU...But I did like getting out of the bed to watch the late game, especially if I hadn't to be up early in the morning, could alternate between Coca Cola and beer.

Now in the states, Thursday night is a bit handier. We often go to Buffalo Wild Wings for special occasion matches involving the Bears (especially Packers games). The big issue is that I've moved out of the Chicago broadcasting region so getting to watch their games might involve trips to sports bars more often than not. I can live with that.

This pretty much sums it up. Not as easy anymore with small kids but for a game like tonight i'll put up with the zombie like feeling tomorrow

P.s maybe it's just the new season buzz but as of now I'm excited to see pretty much every team this year even the teams that are likely to be bad

    Chip Kelly in San Francisco
    RG3 in Cleveland
    Exotic smash mouth in Tennesse
    Rams back in L.A

Good question brought up on the NFL network kickoff show.

It was how does cam deal with the Super Bowl from last year tonight ? I mean he won't forget it obviously but he could decide to stick it to all his critics about how he played and how he handled it post game and start forcing things and not play smart.

Or he could use it positively and go out there and have a great game. If he wins tonight it changes nothing about the super bowl but it will help to win and play well and turn the page on it.
