    Hi,

I'm currently organising a stag for this December. Our plan is to rent a house + hostel combo for the entire group. We're having trouble finding anywhere in Wicklow.

Any suggestions?Potentially very large group. The plan would be to organise games,BBQ etc in the rented house and then everyone (or most) would stay in a hostel (39 people on the list which will hopefully drop considerably once we contact them) hence why we need a hostel combo on the off chance that the group turns out to be really big.

Yes, try http://anoige.ie/hostels/our-hostel-guide/glenmalure-youth-hostel/ takes 24 and is very remote and hard core! Arrgh.

Open area to have a log fire and if you are nice and honest they will be too. You may be let have some campers and booze, all being reasonable.

If your group is too soft try http://visitwicklow.ie/accommodation/glenmalure-lodge/ nice place pub on site. Finally http://wildernesslodge.ie/ ,

Great walks in the area, no phone coverage and very little wifi.

Thanks a million for this! I started looking into An Oige last night. The first hostel that sprang to mind was Glendalough Youth Hostel. Great location, beside the grave yard etc and it has nostalgia from our youth.

If we were able to rent the entire place, our plan would be to dress the common rooms with our games etc and then organise the BBQ for outside. Alternatively if we were not able to do this, our backup was to organise beds for the group in the hostel and then see about pitching a pagoda on the back lawn the house the games.

Don't think we're going to go down the route of renting a house. It's not fair on the owners (I would never hide the fact that we were a stag). The only downside to Glendalough is the vicinity of a live bar. Although, I kind of see that as a positive. Any stag I've ever been on - once we got the club or bar, the stag effectively ended as people got separated and it just turned into a normal night.

Thanks a million for your suggestions. I wasn't sure if hostels were open to this kind of thing but after looking at the links you provided, it looks great!

The An oige knockree hostel is pretty cool and I would reccomend that one. They do group bookings.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Kippure is also quite a good one too.
