Would've been more believable than the cat excuse.

I think people are obsessing a bit much on the cat. Phone in pocket, down the back of the armchair, cat knocking the laptop flying, all very plausible; though honestly in my experience, it's usually the small cat walking all over the keyboard. Earlier on I got a big drop of water down the screen of the phone and while wiping it off somehow text my ma, it said "L". I'm not phased by the insinuations that for some reason I was on this lady's profile, cause I'm very aware that I wasn't.

That bloody cat once typed "der]p" to one of my friends. Look at your keyboard. It's really easy for this stuff to happen!

Meh, he wasn't even interested. Told me to come back when I'm an actual homophobe.

Get the impression this other lady would be well up for that though!

She's a smart little yoke, that one, so if she was she'd probably find a better way of expressing it than tagging a Christian in a photo.

    so she's a sneaky homophobe!

Leave her long enough and she will post the entire works of Shakespeare. Starting with the homophobic bits.

    Gays can be cnuts too.

I'm sure there are sections within LGBT movement that don't get along - people often don't love each other 100% (and there is nothing wrong with that..)

Of course, gay or straight people can be idiots. It's when they try screaming discrimination that I get annoyed! I knew a visually impaired guy who would punch people, hit them with his cane and be a general arse, and when he got called out for it (or arrested!) would shout about disability and persecution. I don't hate gay people. I don't hate disabled people. But persecution complexes get to me.

Well, she did delete my entire essay on antropomorphism last year and put on Morrissey instead. Jesus now I'm getting paranoid.

It was a terrible essay anyway. She did me a favour.

I'm on a train drinking cans and have no earphones. What's the worst that can happen?

No, I'll save this for later! Get banned from Irish Rail WiFi, or maybe banned from Irish Rail.

It can happen alright. My dog got at my laptop once, I'm now banned from cat lover forums and I had to cancel the SteaktoYourDoor™ order that was placed.

Don't get me started on when the other cat, the BFF (big fat f*cker) got on Just-Eat. The small cat saying derp to my friends I can afford... The other? Not so much

That's brilliant, as a gay man I know plenty of lads like that. Although I have a question I may end up regretting but I'll ask it. In a previous employment myself and a girl were talking and she was telling me that she had a particular sex act performed on her for the first time the night previous and asked if I'd ever had it done and before I could answer her neighbor (another girl) told me she didn't need to be hearing about my sex life and I had better not reply to the question. When challenged as to why girl number 1 was allowed to talk about it the answer was something along the lines of "her doing it isn't gross, you doing it, even if I don't know if you did it, is gross"

so my question is, was that homophobic or should I have taken it as she just didn't want the mental image of me in that position, cause that's how I did take it but other people told me she was being homophobic, what say you AH?

I would personally think that is homphobic. But innocently really, you people are new to Irish society don't ya know!

Honestly this is why this innocent Facebook slip up somehow being "homophobic" is why I'm both hurt and annoyed. There is plenty of real homophobia out there. I encounter it at times and have lost friends by being "hysterical" or "commie" for calling it out. It's casual and it's subtle. Asmuch as I loathe this gay woman's idea that I'm "having an issue with the gays" (her words) because I tagged a "holy person" (her words again) in some picture of her with a child; these are stretches of the imagination that I don't want to pander to. There is enough real homophobia in the world without trying to create it for yourself.

And you did not. You did not jump to conclusions. But personally yeah I think that is unintentional, causal homophobia, which is nearly worse.

Just thinking, so your cat tagged a christian friend on a lesbian friend's profile and you were accused of being homophobic for that?

Depending on the pic I would say that you were more trying to antagonise the christian friend that has a genuine problem with gay people. But maybe I've missed something!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

I think the obvious answer here, and the one you're refusing to deal with, is that your cat is a homophobe.

You did miss something, you missed a step of removal. It was a friend of a friend!

But the 2 main players are the Christian friend, and the lesbian friend of a friend. Yes?

Even if it's the lesbian friend and christian friend of a friend, again, depending on the picture etc I would say that it would come off more as an attempt to wind up the christian and I would personally encourage that behavior!

I hope the cat who posted the homophobic tag is reading all this and is learning something.

Does the sex act involve ball bags resting on chins or foreheads? Because that can be a mental image that I generally don't want to have. Like two kidnapped children bound and gagged, stuffed into a lumpy meat sack and then bashed against a wall - oh, the humanity… I probably wouldn't turn around and say what your one said though…

If only the lesbian lady had taken it that way!

My distant FB friend who got tagged is so random. She is a Christian but hatred is so outside her nature, The kindest person I ever "met" (we have known eachother online for 8 years, from playing farm games), hope to meet her one day. She may be Christian but she also recoiled in horror that just because she is "holy" she is hatin' on the gays.

Like I said, if you read the OP, could have been phone in pocket or down the side of the sofa, not always the cat on the laptop, but Amelia on the laptop has caused me many issues before.

Corey on the laptop usually involves bringing in for repair and a lot of money. That cat weighs nearly as much as me.

D'you know what? I am so obsessed with my boyfriend's lesbian ex landlady that I did deliberately went onto her profile, found a picture of her with a child, then tagged an American Christian friend, to show this woman that I hate gays,

Surely the phone falling out of my hand, sitting down the back of the couch, water on the screen or cat standing on the laptop is more credible than this? If I hated gays why would I go to such effort?

And that Christian friend who got tagged, she loves everyone. Gay straight bi black and white (she's South Carolina, apparently that matters). Never met a kinder hearted human. It's just mind boggling how paranoid this lady got over an obvious accident (and half of you too!)

Your cat clicked on someone's profile, went through their photos and tagged your friend in one of them?

    Not possible.

My phone managed to go to settings and set up a new user profile on itself while it was in my pocket one day.I freaked out when I opened it cos it looked like it had wiped everything

One time my cat managed to log me into boards (one click),

Then navigated to the Dublin Forum.

Then selected a thread and clicked reply.

    Wrote M then clicked post.

In 30 seconds standing on my laptop.

Ah yeah, I deleted it because it really had no substance behind it, so I checked the reported posts, I don't know if you are gay or straight, it certainly wasn't personal.

BTW have you been to the Geocaching forum?
