Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Anyone an idea of the cost to replace flywheel on a 2010 1.6 diesel golf and if doing so do you also need to replace clutch. Just told yesterday that there was an issue with the flywheel.

    Thanks

Most of the cost changing a flywheel is in the labour that labour involves removing and re-installing a clutch, be that an old one or a new one. Considering the average clutch costs about €150-200 you may as well pay for the cost of the part because the labour cost will be the same. No point just changing the flywheel and then doing the job again when the clutch goes!

Thanks, looks like will be replacing both so. Any idea of price. Just emailed George Daltons too for a quote as he seems to be the resident expert.

Hi, I usually give my local auto factors shop a call when I need prices and give them the registration and they'll be able to give you an accurate quote.
I also use Micksgarage.com for pricing. Just pop in your reg.

The price varies for this job, dual mass flywheel and clutch could cost 1000+

I had quotes of 1450 for mine and all.
