Anyone here use the Avermedia Live Gamer Extreme?

Got one yesterday but it's giving me an awful headache.
I'm using a dual PC setup as follows:

    Gaming PC: i7 6700k, Gtx1080
    Recording PC: i5 3570k, Gtx670.

Gaming PC's own monitor is connected via DP.
HDMI runs from 1080 to LGX in port.

HDMI on LGX out runs to 670 in recording PC.
Recording PC own monitor connected via DVI-D.

USB on LGX connected to USB3.0 in recording PC.

Gaming PC monitor settings are set to duplicate.

On the recording PC - the LGX software (RECentral) will not pick up the feed at 1920x1080. I get a black screen. Any resolution lower seems to work fine.

Any ideas? I've attached two screenshots of RECentral. One at 720 where you can see my gaming PC screen, other at 1080 when just a black screen.

Could you try, instead of duplicating the screen, running a HDMI in and out of the LGX and see if that works?

This sounds like some graphics card setting, there's probably some power saving box ticked preventing it from doing 1080p (LGX should be fine doing it).
