Travelling Dublin to Newry on the Train with Free Travel

    Will be travelling Dublin to Newry and back again on the same day by Train how does that work? Do I have to pay to buy a new ticket once I cross over the border?
    Do I have to buy a new Ticket?
    Can someone please explain? Many thanks in Advance

    Apparently you can use your free travel card in NI provided you have a special all-ireland card, that you have to apply for - the info is in the link.

    When you get your ticket in Dublin you choose a return, you will fill out a cross border form at the ticket desk and then you don't have to do anything in Newry.

    Ah yes, I did not read far enough,
    You may also travel free of charge on certain cross-border services between Ireland and Northern Ireland.
    the regs I was quoting were if you wanted to travel more than cross border in the North.
