Sorry, but I'm too busy watching the one-legged high jumpers (including one Pole who just "vaulted" 1.71m) and armless Chinese swimmers

Some of these guys/gals are incredible

Fantastic performances in the Time Trials today, with golds for Katie George Dunlevy/Eve McCrystal in the tandem and Eoghan Clifford (C3) (to follow up his bronze in the IP the other day) and Silver to one-time boardsie Colin Lynch in the C2

That's 2/3rds of Ireland's total medal tally to date in the cycling events

Cycling in the McCrystal blood, her younger brother Bryan is a talented cyclist and Ironman. Huge well done ladies.

All I can say is well done.

It's a cliché but these games are really proving that its more about the ability of these athletes rather than their disability which defines them.

    Some literally superhuman performances.

I'm enjoying the Paralympics more than the Olympics. So many inspirational performances and retaining much of the amateur spirit that the Olympics left behind some time ago (admittedly though Team GB have taken things to a professional level in most sports)

Maybe it's the fact the events are on at a more reasonable time, or the often light-hearted coverage from Channel 4, but I'm looking forward to whatever's on each evening to the exclusion of other stuff on the TV.

The Iranian cyclist that was hurt in the crash earlier has died. Just breaking news.

    RIP.

Puts a bit of a dampener on the whole Rio Games.

Apparently they didn't use that as part of paralympic road races.

It was on the flat just metres from the finish.

It was reported that it took place on the downhill of the Grumari circuit, which was included in both the timetrials and road races in the Olympics, but was not the section that claimed so many victims towards the end of the road races.

A map and profile of the 2.07km section is attached, showing some nasty ups and downs, which could so easily catch people out. That downhill has some tight hairpins to contend with.

No, diff race, the fella who died only has one leg, the two who took each other out were in the 2 legged cat.
