    It does if it is done correctly. If the dialogue overlaps because actors are listening to each other then no. I have always enjoyed over lapping dialogue, when it is two scenes going on at the same time, some times to show the same conversation, with different options or out comes. As long at those watching can follow each characters intent, then it works.
