    They might not have the data, now that you've closed your account, or if they have, they might not give it to you in statement form, so the receiving bank may not be happy.

    Under the consumer protection act (CPC) banks have to keep records 6 years from date of closure. When you request info under CPC you will not get bank statements , you will be given account opening documents , any corresponded on your file or he on computer .

    You'll get all data they have, but don't count on statements coming in statement form. They're only obliged to give you a dump of the data.
