Buying a house in Drogheda

I am looking to buy a house in Drogheda &'was wondering which areas are "best". Would be commuting to D4 daily for work & would be using the train. Any help/ advice will be appreciated please

Hi OP, questions would be what is your budget/desired house type, how far from the train station do you want to be, would you consider the non bus eireann bus service?

Budget 150-170k, 2/3 bed & less than 7mins(max) drive to train station.

Okay, on that basis then you are looking at the southside Dublin road estates, such as Five Oaks, Wheaton Hall, Deepforde, Stameen, Grange Rath. Not all of these estates have units within your budget though, as you would be looking at a duplex or apartment, whereas most have your typical semi-d.

That being said, I did pull a couple out, links below. I know Grange Rath well, so would recommend it out of personal knowledge, but you do pay that bit more than areas closer to the town. Travel time to the station would probably be outside your time limit, but only just. Best bet is to take a drive up and check out the areas in person.

Do you have any info about Rivercourt estate and The Willows estate areas?

Not really. Rivercourt is still on the south side, but more the top end of the town. Willows is in Avourwen I think. I looked at buying there years ago myself, but the estate was unfurnished for a long while after.

Both are near enough to the M1 junctions, but if you were heading down to Dublin and didn't plan on using the tolls, then you would have to travel through part of the town, from Rivercourt at least.
