So it's already appearing on iPhones in the uk.
Should be on our devices after 6pm this evening.

They're probably running the beta of GM, it drops world wide at the same time.

If you have fast wifi and check for an update at 6pm you should probably be fine. Make sure you have an iCloud or iTunes backup done first.

Downloaded and currently installing. The download took less than ten minutes for me.

My download says about 30 minutes remaining...but it seems to be speeding up a little.

Then 30 seconds later it says 24 minutes.
Downloading since before 6.10pm.

Abort the install if you can!! Bricked my 6S with the connect to iTunes screen coming up. Big thread on macRumors about it...

Don't let it install. Once it downloads choose later for the install prompt. Then delete the download file from settings > general > storage and iCloud usage > manage storage.

Downloaded and installed on iPad Air and 5s.

Haven't really kept up to date with what changes it brings but one immediate annoyance on the phone is the lock screen. I seem to have to use my fingerprint and press the home button to unlock, which seems a very weird move.

Settings > General > Accessibility > Home Button > Rest Finger To Open > On

The benefit of the removal of slide to unlock is you have quick access to the camera (swipe right to left) and your widgets screen (swipe left to right) from your lock screen.

Yes that is correct and it is a great feature.

Slide to unlock is gone. You now use fingerprint sensor and button to unlock.

It then means sliding to left quickly brings up the camera whilst the sliding to the right brings up widgets and notifications.

It's really good once you get used to it and has removed an unnecessary slide to unlock step.

Give it chance before you enable "rest finger to unlock". You'll get used to it.
