County Limerick Jobs Boost

Good news for Newcastle West today with the announcement of ~100 jobs for the town, with the arrival of Ortec Inc., a US-based company.

The company, which is headquartered in South Carolina, has announced it is to establish its European Headquarters, Manufacturing and Operations Centre in the town, creating up to 110 skilled engineering and science jobs over the coming years.

120 additional jobs for Virgin Media to bring their Limerick workforce up to 400. Not bad!!

Last time Virgin recruited for Roxboro the people were hired by a recruitment company. In that, they worked in the building but were not VM employees. That means VM didn't have to give them the same rate as the VM staff, no VHI and no TV/Broadband perk.

They have already set up in city centre and jobs are being advertised

Surprised this 200 additional job announcement for Northern Trust didn't seem to attract that much attention. 1200 employees in total is a great number for a single employer in a regional city.
