Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Folks,

Looking for common problems with battery drain in this particular model. Couple of items ruled out:

    - Battery is under a year old, resting at 12.5V, when started, rises to 13.5+V. So on that, I feel I can rule out the battery and alternator.

    - No lights being left on including the boot.

    - Third party phone kit is powering down when the car is off.

    - Nothing plugged in, nothing third party installed that I'm aware of that would be draining it.

Car does about 40km round trip on the M50 per day. Battery drain isn't super quick e.g. Probably takes about 2 weeks of complete rest to hit rock bottom but by comparison, I've had cars rest up for 6 weeks and no issue to turn over first time so I feel this is unusual and warrants investigation.

    Cheers!

If you go down the diagnostic route you could disconnect the battery negative and attach multimeter in series (set to current). You would expect to see some draw (don't know the figures of top of my head) and then I would pull each fuse to see when the current draw drops. Might give you a clue where to look, we had a radio doing this on Mazda, the current draw was over and above what to expect.

Test as per landmarkjohn says however, don't totally disregard the battery if it takes 2 weeks left alone to discharge...
