Hello I have 2 children under 4 years of age. and a wife who does not work in a paid job and instead minds the children. I am employed. in a mortgage application, are the dependents = 2 > the 2 children OR 3 > the 2 children and the wife

2 children plus wife.
They will look at your disposable income and see if it can sustain 4 people.
