Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey guys,

On Sunday I got the bulb notification on my dash that two bulbs were blown, one on each side of the rear lights of my e90. I then got a further warning light today that more bulbs were blown making a total of 5. I knew they couldn't all actually be blown but bought new ones just in case. I replaced them all and it made no difference, they're still not working. I checked all the wiring for damaged cables and all looks fine. Any ideas? Bad earth maybe?

Have the NCT tomorrow afternoon too. Typical

    Cheers.

Had similar problem on my e39 kept showing rear light out but it wasn't bulb or bulb holder that do give problems. I lived with the fault for a while until indicator start flashing too fast intermittently. After lots of bulb changes checking bulb sockets it turned out to be light control module.

It's a bugger to diagnosis as it doesn't show up as module faulty on any faults codes

But start at the beginning and ensure the metal tabs in the bulb holder aren't corroded and the tabs touch bulb and contact tract on lamp holder. Next check earth's

But I thing if it's that many bulbs it is the light control module.

You could buy used one off ebay as I did for cheap. While it's not too difficult to change it will need to be programmed to car to removed the tamper dot in mileage display. And if it came from car with different options you need to change through program to match your car.

There is 4 or 5 different version of LCM used in e39 they are backward compatible but old version isn't compatible with newest. So ensure you get correct version or newer for your car. I had to take the footwell apart on driver get at module. If your using bmw software to read module it will also tell you version.
